Have you ever felt the powerful nudge of the Holy Spirit urging you to take action, only to hesitate and wonder if it was really divine guidance?

This episode of the Jamie Luce podcast delves into the critical importance of being an integral part of the body of Christ and following the Holy Spirit’s lead without delay. We’ll explore how isolation can leave us vulnerable, just like prey in the wild, and how staying connected to our faith community provides essential protection and strength. Through the lens of Peter’s transformative vision in Acts, chapter 10, we illustrate the Holy Spirit’s guidance into unfamiliar territory and the profound impact of trusting in divine direction.

Prompt obedience to the Holy Spirit can be a matter of life and death. Hear an astonishing personal story where a split-second decision, guided by the Spirit, averted a potentially fatal car accident. We discuss the vital importance of immediate obedience to the Holy Spirit, supported by both biblical principles and personal experiences. The significance of acting without hesitation is underscored by a gripping narrative about my son and his mission team, where fervent prayer and divine intervention prevented a catastrophic outcome.

The power of prayer and unwavering faith cannot be overstated. We’ll recount a miraculous event of divine protection that saved lives and delve into the transformative strength of communal prayer. Drawing parallels with the biblical story of Peter’s escape from prison, we emphasize the necessity of being spiritually ready and supported by a faith community. Finally, we invite you to share your prayer requests and personal experiences, fostering deeper connections within our faith community.

Where to dive in:

(0:00:00) – Follow the Holy Spirit’s Leading (10 Minutes)

This chapter emphasizes the importance of being part of the body of Christ rather than isolating oneself, drawing parallels to how predators in nature target those who are alone. We explore the necessity of following the Holy Spirit’s leading, using biblical examples such as Peter’s vision and subsequent actions in Acts, chapter 10. Additionally, we examine Peter’s miraculous escape from prison in Acts, chapter 12, highlighting the role of divine guidance and community prayer. Through these stories, we discuss how to recognize and act upon the Holy Spirit’s direction, even when it leads us into unfamiliar territory.

(0:10:03) – Prompt Obedience to the Holy Spirit (8 Minutes)

This chapter emphasizes the importance of responding quickly to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, drawing from both biblical principles and personal anecdotes. We explore how immediate obedience can be crucial, as illustrated by a life-threatening situation the host experienced while driving. The host recounts a moment when following the Holy Spirit’s guidance to change lanes averted a serious accident. By sharing these experiences, we underscore the significance of trusting and acting on divine guidance without hesitation, reinforcing that sometimes, immediate action can be life-saving.

(0:17:56) – Divine Protection Through Prayer and Obedience (8 Minutes)

This chapter recounts a powerful and faith-filled story of divine intervention and the importance of prayer. I share the harrowing experience of my son and his team during a mission where their equipment failed, leaving them vulnerable to enemy traps. Miraculously, the enemy’s bombs did not detonate, which we attribute to our fervent prayers at a restaurant table, feeling the Holy Spirit’s protection. This narrative emphasizes the necessity of being led by the Spirit, listening to God’s instructions, and acting promptly and faithfully. By comparing this experience to biblical events, we illustrate the importance of spiritual readiness, community support, and unwavering obedience to divine guidance.

(0:25:46) – Power of Prayer and Obedience (10 Minutes)

This chapter emphasizes the importance of being true to oneself and following God’s specific calling rather than trying to emulate others. We explore the biblical narrative of Peter in prison, highlighting his transformation into a man of great faith who can sleep peacefully even in dire circumstances. This faith is reinforced by the power of communal prayer, underscoring the necessity of being an active part of the body of Christ. We stress the significance of genuine, immediate prayer support for one another, as opposed to empty promises of “thoughts and prayers.” The chapter concludes by encouraging listeners to surround themselves with God-fearing friends who are committed to praying fervently and faithfully.

(0:35:58) – Prayer Requests and Blessings (1 Minutes)

This chapter is an invitation for listeners to connect and share their experiences and prayer requests. I emphasize the importance of reaching out to those who can offer spiritual support and prayer. I encourage you to send your prayer requests and assure you that I will personally pray for you. Additionally, I provide my contact information and direct you to my website, jaimeluce.com, for further engagement. I’m so excited about this book! I didn’t want to write something that simply told about the financial miracles God has done for me. But I wanted to practically help others know how to have the same kind of results. So this book is a playbook. Just like in sports. It will have the story of the need we faced from small to the astronomically huge and how God provided every time. Then we will give you what I call “the play call.” After you understand the Biblical method that was used you are then given a teaching on how to use that knowledge. I can promise it will give you the tools to change your situation and to realize that “You Don’t Need Money. You Just Need God.”

You’ve got to be a part of the body of Christ. Don’t be a lone wolf. The enemy loves to attack those who have been isolated and peeled off from the crowd. Think of any kind of nature show that you have seen. Who does the enemy attack? Who is the predator going after the weak one, the one that’s slower, the one that’s by themselves? Why do you have to get up quickly? Because you don’t want to get left behind. You don’t want to be the slow one, you don’t want to be the one who’s easily picked off. Folks, we need to stay with the protection that God has given to us, and that protection is the body of Christ. Welcome to the Jamie Luce podcast. Thanks for tuning in today.

I want to talk to you today about following the leading of the Holy Spirit. We talked about in a previous episode what it is to be full, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, but today I want to talk to you specifically about being led by the Holy Spirit, and I want you to go with me in your Bibles to the book of Acts, and we’re going to see an example of this, and then I’m going to give you a couple of personal examples that I hope will make this very clear for you. But so many times we wonder like how do I do that, jamie? How do I? I know that I’m supposed to follow the Holy Spirit, but how do I know that’s him leading? How do I do that? And that’s really what we want to talk about today. So, because it’s one thing to have the Spirit of God and it’s one thing to even hear him speaking to you, but it is another thing to follow him. It’s like in Acts, chapter 10, when Peter is up on the rooftop and he sees the vision of the sheet coming down and all the different animals and things, and it says rise, peter, eat. And he says no, lord, for I’ve never, ever let an unclean thing touch my lips. And then the Lord says to him do not call uncommon what I have called cleansed or something to that effect. And he’s basically telling him he’s getting, he’s preparing him. Peter doesn’t know. He’s getting ready to be called to go also send the gospel to the Gentiles, that he himself is going to walk into a Gentile home, which he never would have done on his own, because that was not their custom, that was not their way. You would now be unclean, but he needed the Lord to do this. And this vision he saw happen three times. And at the end of that vision, the spirit tells him there are three men here. So he gets an opportunity. He is told that there’s something happening here, and then an opportunity for you to go and and do what I’m telling you to do. There’s an opportunity here, peter, you’ve heard me, you know what I’ve said. It’s it’s now your choice to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, to follow me and to do what I’ve asked you to do, even though it’s not something you’ve ever seen done before, it’s not something that you’ve done before. This is unfamiliar to you. You’re not even sure if this is right. You’re questioning is this right or not? But you’ve heard from the Lord. And so let’s go to Acts, chapter 12, and I’m going to read verses 1 to 19,. And we’re going to talk about this today.

About that time, herod the king laid violent hands on some who belonged to the church. He killed James, the brother of John, with a sword, and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also this was during the days of unleavened bread and when he had seized him, he put him in prison, delivering him over to four squads of soldiers to guard him, intending that after the Passover to bring him out to the people. So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church Now, when Herod was about to bring him out. On that very night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers bound with two chains and centuries before the door regarding the prison. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood next to him and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying get up quickly. And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him dress yourself and put on your sandals. And he did so. And he said to him wrap your cloak around you and follow me. And he went out and followed him. He did not know that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.

When they had passed the first and the second guard, they came to the iron gate leading into the city. It opened for them of its own accord and they went out and went along one street and immediately the angel left him. When Peter came to himself he said Now I am sure that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting. When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose other name was Mark, so John Mark where many were gathered together and were praying. And when he knocked at the door of the gateway, a servant girl named Rhoda came to answer, recognizing Peter’s voice. In her joy, she did not open the gate, but ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate. They said to her you are out of your mind. But she kept insisting that it was so and they kept saying it is his angel. But Peter continued knocking and when they opened, they saw him and were amazed. But, motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he described to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison and he said tell these things to James and to the brothers. Then he departed and went to another place. Now, when the day, now when day came, there was no little disturbance among the soldiers over what had become of Peter, and after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.

Okay, there’s a lot here and I don’t want to belabor any of this, but I want you to hone in on these few verses. I’m going to go back and we’re going to read verses six through 11, and we’re going to see how Peter had to follow the leading. Now, in this passage, of course, there is an angel who’s guiding him, but he thinks that this is a vision, so he is learning to follow and take instructions, even though he’s not aware if this is even real and it’s going to feel that way. Folks, there are so many times that I have asked the Lord about something and he’s given me instructions to to follow things, to do things that he brought up to me. I realized that’s what he wants me to do, but it doesn’t seem real. I mean, it’s not like you have a person right there giving you instructions or writing them down for you. I don’t know how many times I’ve prayed and been guilty of saying, oh Lord, if you would just write on the wall for me, like you did in the old Testament, and then I’ll know what to do. The problem was that hand that they saw right on the wall was actually judgment against them, and we don’t want that. But it’s because we’re wanting to walk by flesh, we’re not wanting to walk by the spirit. We’re wanting to walk by flesh. We want to walk by sight and not faith. And in order to walk according to the spirit, you have to walk by faith. You can’t do that when you’re not in faith. Otherwise it’s, you’re just. It doesn’t even make sense. You can’t even do that. So let’s look back at verses six through 11. And I want you to listen closely to this Now, when Herod was about to bring him out, on that very night, peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains and centuries before the door, were guarding the prison, and we had already read up before this they had put, they had seized and put him in prison and delivered him over to four squads of soldiers. Okay, this is a lot of soldiers. This is a lot of people guarding him. This is not a small number, this is a large number. Okay, back to verse seven. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood next to him and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying get up quickly.

Hi, my name is Jamie Luce. I wanted to share with you some information about a brand new book entitled you Don’t Need Money, you Just Need God. It’s a playbook for miraculous provision, and I want to share it with you because it solves the problem we are all facing right now. The economy is going crazy, gas prices are soaring, there’s wars and rumors of wars. We’ve got everything hitting us all at once, with interest rates rising. You need to know what to do, and so many times we think we need the money. But you don’t need money. I’m telling you, the answer is you need God, and that’s exactly what we want to teach you through this book. We’ll give you practical ways to know what to do and how to do it, so that you get answers now. You can find my book on Amazon. You can also go to jamielucecom. You can also find this book at. You don’t need money, you just need Godcom.

This book is available today and I’m going to take us through these things. I’m going to use these things Now. This is an exact story of exactly what happened to Peter. I’m not changing the story. I’m just giving you some analogies based off of what we’re seeing here in scripture. Not everything we go through is exactly the same as we see it, but I want you to see the principles that are kind of in action here. Okay, so he says, get up quickly Now when the Lord speaks to us. My first encouragement to you today is to move quickly. What is God telling you to do? Don’t belabor, don’t, don’t sit and think oh, I don’t know if that was God, I just you know I really need. Okay, I’m going to wait until I have three confirmations and my pastor tells me it’s okay and I go over here and I get that. I’m not saying that confirmation is bad. I use confirmation, but there are times when the Lord is speaking and, to put it bluntly, time is of the essence If you’re somebody.

I was in a situation once I had to know an answer and I was on the clock and this was a life to me, a life or death decision. I needed to know an answer and I was on the clock and this was a life to me, a life or death decision. I needed to know what to do and I heard what I felt was the answer from the Lord and I gave that answer and to this day, that was a total walk of faith for me. That was a total walk of faith, but I believe that the Lord was with me and took care of me. Because of it, um, and and you can have things like this all the time. In fact, I’d like to tell you why, following after the spirit, why it’s important that we get up quickly.

I was driving one day. We used to live in a town called Diamond Bar and there was one main street that went from one end of town to the other, and the longer and the more years that have passed that we lived there, the place really grew and traffic that used to be nothing became a big deal. And I was on a side. So you have the main road and I was on a side street going to turn onto that main road and as I was pulling around, I had plenty of space for me to pull into that lane. And when I was in the lane, we had just started to move. I had gone maybe a block, okay. And I’m coming down that street on a block and I noticed to my right there’s a street that you can turn into Okay, you can turn back into that street. And all of a sudden, traffic in front of me is screeching to a halt and I’m hitting my brakes pretty good. I don’t, I can’t see what has happened, but everybody’s hitting their brakes. I’m sure it was traffic and other things, but somebody did something they shouldn’t have and there’s a lot of brakes happening.

I happened at that second to look in my rear view mirror. At the second that I looked in my rear view mirror I heard the Holy spirit say get out. I mean it was just get out and I knew I had one second opportunity to pull to the right and get out of that lane. I obeyed, I pulled out and at the second cause it was. You know how things happen. When they happen fast, a lot is happening. Your brain moves very quickly.

I had looked into my rear view mirror. I saw behind me at a good length probably, probably three or four car lengths. Behind me was an old pickup truck, a very large old pickup truck with three men in it. I believe they were probably doing gardening type work, had equipment in their vehicle. And when I for a split second saw that car, that’s when the Holy Spirit said move.

I realized at the moment that I started to move. I’m moving and I’m still watching what’s happening behind me. I know that sounds tricky, but I was and I could see behind me the person driving that car was completely turned. His head was turned, not looking at traffic, talking to the two men in the vehicle next to him. And so at the moment that I’m turning, I’m saying thank you, holy Spirit, because I knew in that second that car is not looking and he’s not going to see that he has to be stopping. He doesn’t see what’s happening in front of him, he’s completely distracted. And as soon as my car cleared the road, that truck came full speed and barreled into the car that was in front of me.

Now I feel awful about what happened to the car that was in front of me, but I knew that the Holy Spirit had spared me. I mean, he truly spared me. I’m not sure how bad that accident would have been had it been another car length closer and it would have been me. It would have been bad and I am grateful to this day. I remember it like it was yesterday. I can see the whole thing happening in my, in my head, but that was because I quickly followed the leading of the Holy spirit in that moment. You don’t and that wasn’t just some people, will you know say well, you just knew that that car wasn’t paying attention. You were just making a wise decision. I was focused on the traffic in front of me. It was the Holy spirit having me look and prompting me to move, and it was a quick, very quick do this.

Now. I was a young girl. I was probably 16, 17 years old. I’m not that smart. I wasn’t that clever. I hadn’t been driving that long. I didn’t have long time experience. This was before cell phones, when you’re used to looking for people. We didn’t have cell phones back then. People weren’t looking at their phones constantly while they were driving. So this was not something I was expecting and I know that the Holy Spirit completely helped me and led me that day.

I will give you an even more severe instance of this to give you a picture of this. My son served in the military. He was infantry in the army and he was in Afghanistan. My husband and I and our other kids were on a little vacation. We had flown over to Hawaii and we were sitting at a dinner table in the restaurant having dinner and my phone goes off. And I answered the phone and I realize it’s Matthew and he said mom, we’re under heavy fire. There’s a lot going on right now. I don’t have time to talk. I need you to pray. We’re in danger. And he had never done that. He had never done that before and I knew this was a desperate call for help and they aren’t supposed to have their phones, they’re not supposed to be doing that. And he knew he needed a prayer covering. He knew this was danger. I want you to correlate that with this passage that I read Peter’s in danger. They had already killed James, and Herod saw that this pleased the Jews and he’s got Peter arrested and his plan is to kill Peter. He’s going to pull him out of that prison tonight and he’s in critical danger right now. But while he’s in prison, in danger, there is a house full of Christians praying for him. In that moment of danger.

Now my son called us and we’re at the table. We didn’t care that we were at the restaurant, we didn’t care. It was in fact, when I think on it now, we were almost in this little back room and I think the Lord did that for us, that we had the privacy we needed. But we all began to pray, and for us. We prayed in the spirit, we prayed protection, we prayed God’s wisdom. We prayed God would make a way that all of those that were there would not be harmed in any way. We did not know I mean we did not know what had taken place. We didn’t get a call back. It was later that we found out the truth and the full story of what happened that night. But I can tell you now what happened and I can tell you that it was the prayer and it was the Holy Spirit who was at work that what took place actually took place.

My son later explained to me that he and a group of his men they were in a very small, unsecure camp area. All of their equipment that they were using to speak to one another had gone out. The last order they had received was that the group who was called on in his group had to go to this area to spy on the Taliban group that was in front of them. That they knew where they were. They saw their whole camp. They knew where they were. They sent. My son was a part of the group who had to go out and they were close without not they didn’t have the security of their whole group behind them, it was just the few of them that went in the cover of darkness trying to see what they needed to see and deal with this enemy that was in front of them. And at that point my son says they realized their equipment. They are trying to communicate with their people because they are their eyes. They are telling them, with their equipment, what they can see, what they need to be looking for and how to navigate all of this in their position that they were called to take and their equipment was not working. They could not speak to their own people.

At the very same time, the group who was back at camp, who can see their own people my son included and can see the enemy ahead of them, have radio intel coming straight from the enemy’s camp. From the enemy’s camp, that intel is yelling and screaming because they can see my son and the people that are with him and the position they’re at. What my son and those men did not know in that moment was that they were literally surrounded their whole area that they were at. There were IED bombs everywhere and there were certain traps that were set and the enemy was literally for lack of a better way to say it pushing the buttons so that those bombs would go off and kill my son and the men who were there. The bombs were not going off. What camp was hearing from? The intel coming was that they were yelling because they’re saying what’s wrong? Why isn’t our equipment working and the bombs are not going off? Our men, my son and his the group they were with were not being killed and the enemy was freaking out. Why aren’t they being killed and they’re yelling and screaming? So when my son and his group finally realized there was nothing more they could do, they couldn’t advance forward because they weren’t being given instructions. They had to go back to camp. When they got back to camp, they were told what had taken place.

Folks, I know to this day that the reason those bombs didn’t go off was because we were sitting at that table praying and covering him with prayer. At that moment it was imperative that people were praying and we were praying and the Holy Spirit was doing what we could not do and protected those men from harm and danger and being overtaken by their enemy. Folks, let’s go back to the scripture, but I want you to understand the importance of being led by the spirit to know when it is when you’ve got to get up and when you’ve got to move and when you’ve got to do something, and to not only do that but to have a group of people that you are trusting your life to, so to speak, spiritually, that those are people you count on for prayer, that you can call it in that moment, here. What does the angel do? He says get up quickly. The angel literally strikes him on the side. To me that was the phone call. We got Get up quickly and the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him dress yourself and put on your sandals. Do you hear these? These are specific instructions. He’s now he’s telling him prepare, get yourself dressed, because we’re getting out of here.

But sometimes you need those kinds of instructions. You need the Lord to be telling you okay, get up, I need you to put this on, I need you to go here, I need you to do that. It’s in the obedience of when we are following the leading of the spirit, that whatever chains are holding us bound, whatever barriers for him it was all of these guards and these chains, whatever barriers are in your way that those things, in those moments of listening to the leading of the Holy Spirit and following the instructions you get. It’s imperative in those moments that you do them, and you do them right. When God tells you, you don’t lag behind, you don’t get lazy, and following the instructions of the Lord, you get busy. You get busy doing what God has called you to do. You get busy making those phone calls, you get busy making those connections, you get busy. Whatever it is that God’s calling you to do, you do. And he did so. And he said to him wrap your cloak around you and follow me. And he went out and followed him. You may not know how to get there and what to do, you may not know the path that you are supposed to take, but the Holy Spirit does. We are just.

These words are no different than when Jesus would speak to his disciples and say you follow me, even when Peter and John, before Jesus ascends to heaven. Jesus ascends to heaven and Jesus tells Peter what kind of death he’s going to die. And Peter questions God about John. And Jesus says about John what is it to you if I let him live until I come? This is all found in the book of John, but he says to him when Peter says well, what about him? And Jesus says and this is really important. He tells him what is it to you?

We get so busy and distracted and lazy and we don’t do what we need to do when we need to do it. We procrastinate because we’re so busy looking what everybody else is doing, how other people are doing it. You know, doing a podcast. The temptation can be to look at all these other podcasts and to try to mimic somebody else to do it the way somebody else does it, somebody who’s successful.

Now, I’m not saying you don’t learn and that you don’t get better at what you do, but you can’t be somebody else. You have to be who God’s called you to be. Your task is to do what God calls you to do the way he tells you to do it. That’s why he says follow me. He’s not telling us to follow others. Now, the only time that we see even close to that, but he makes it clear what he’s saying is when Paul says follow me as I follow Christ. What is he saying? The way that Christ tells us to live, that’s the way I live. I’m telling you to live like that. So in essence, he’s saying follow Christ, you can follow me, you can trust me. We do that with pastors and leaders. We can follow them as they follow Christ, but if they don’t follow Christ, you cannot follow them. It has to be that we are following the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was given because we no longer have a physical form of Jesus to follow, so we follow the Holy Spirit. In following the Holy Spirit, our chains fall off. The boundaries and the barriers that were hindrances to us, that imprisoned us. Those are removed. If we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we follow him. So let’s look at verse 12.

When he realized this now Peter’s already come out of the prison when he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John, whose other name was Mark, where many were gathered together and were praying Folks. Prayer is so important, no matter what you’re doing, no matter what task God has called you to. You of course need to be a person of prayer, but you can see that Peter was in the predicament. He was in. He’s there sleeping. He was sleeping. It’s like when Jesus was in the boat and the disciples are. Peter had learned. He had learned, he was in this prison and he remembers. This is my, this is what I think. There’s no scripture that says this is Jamie’s opinion. He remembers that when the disciples were in a boat in the storm and they thought they were going to die, and Jesus was in the bottom of boat sleeping, not afraid of anything, sleeping and it was because he was of little faith at that time.

Well, now we see that Peter is in a prison, guarded by guards everywhere. Every door is guarded. He’s guarded literally. Right beside him, on either side, is a guard, and he’s supposed to be killed the next day or within hours. And in the midst of this storm, what’s Peter doing? He’s sleeping. He’s now a man of great faith, and what is bringing the comfort? What does Peter have going for him? Not only does Peter believe that he’s doing what God has called him to do, he knows he might die for the faith, so he’s taking comfort in that. That’s not a shock to him. He’s not moved by that anymore. He’s already died to his own agenda and his flesh. He lives unto Christ. But what does he have that is bringing that added protection and calling on God for him? He has people who are praying for him. My son had us praying for them.

Folks, it’s really important. You’ve got to be a part of the body of Christ. Don’t be a lone wolf. The enemy loves to attack those who have been isolated and peeled off from the crowd. Think of any kind of nature. Show that you have seen.

We need to be a part of the body of Christ. We need one another. It is important that we have one another. We all play a part, and not only that. We need to be entrusting ourselves one to another.

What does the scripture say? Say that if we need to be healed or forgiven of sin, we take that and we confess our sin one to another so that we are healed. Folks, we need one another for so many reasons, and we need when we’re sick, we’re supposed to go to the elders of the church. Let them lay hands on us and pray the prayer, of the prayer of faith, and that we will recover from our sickness. We need body ministry and we need to have people around us that we know are going to pray for us.

And I’m not talking about those kinds of people who say, yeah, I’ll pray for you, I’ll be praying for you. In fact, I encourage you never to do that. If someone ever says to you, hey, remember to pray for me, I’ve got such and such coming up. Someone ever says to you, hey, remember to pray for me, I’ve got such and such coming up, do yourself a favor, stop right then and there and take their hands and pray for them right now. Don’t wait, don’t procrastinate. You don’t know what the Lord might be using your prayers for to line up certain things in preparation. That person may be in fear right now and your prayer can bring the peace of God right now and break some chains off right now and make them prepared, able to sleep in the middle of a storm for that, waiting for their deliverance to come.

We need to be people of prayer who care about one another. So I’m encouraging you. Get friends who are truly God fearing, god pursuing, friends who are truly those who pray, not those who say they’re going to pray. You know thoughts and prayers. That’s the most ridiculous statement. I can’t stand that statement. Thoughts and prayers Okay, you’re going to think about them. What good is you thinking about them? Going to do Thoughts and prayers means I thought about saying a prayer but I never really prayed.

Pray Really, be a person of prayer. Pray and watch what God will do. Get friends who will be truly good friends, godly friends, a real circle of the body, ministry who will pray for you. But also be that person, be that friend, be that body and pray for people, care about them. Let we bear one another’s burdens.

Those people praying in that house that day for Peter were bearing his burden and praying for him. They thought it was impossible, folks. They thought it was so impossible that when he’s at the door and Rhoda’s there, they don’t think it’s even possible. They say it’s his ghost, it’s a spirit, it’s not even him. We need to be true people of prayer and understand the power that that true prayer brings about. Believe that you have received. So we pray because we believe that what we’re praying for is going to produce fruit. I want us to go. This is the last thing we’re going to do.

Let’s go to Mark, chapter 11. And I will leave you with this Mark 11, verse 24. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. It will be yours. Whatever you believe in prayer, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, believe that you’ve received it, settle it in your heart. I have prayed because he has told me that I should be a person of prayer and I am asking and believe that he is faithful to his word, that he does and always will fulfill any promise that he has made to us, that he sees you and he has a plan for you.

Folks, we have to settle it in our spirits that God is not a liar. If I serve him, it’s because I believe him. If I believe him, it means I believe what he said is true, and he said that I can ask whatever I will in prayer and if I believe that I will receive it, I will receive it. It will be mine. Believe that you have received it and it will be yours. Settle it today. So what is our takeaway today? Be led by the spirit. Be led by the spirit. Don’t wait, don’t hesitate, don’t procrastinate. Don’t get lazy. Don’t leave it for somebody else.

If you want direction for your life, god has it and wants to give it to you, but it will take your obedience to follow him. Follow him. Be a person of prayer and be a person who is surrounded by people of prayer. Make sure you are a part of body ministry. Find prayer ministry. Start a prayer ministry in your church. If you don’t have one, start one. See what God would do. Be a person of prayer, praying for others. Pray for them, really take their needs before the Lord as if they were yours, and get around people that will do the very same thing for you. And then, when you pray and you ask, believe that you have received it and you will. It will be yours. Follow him.
