Seeing What Heaven Sees in 2 Kings 6

Have you ever watched a movie where everything seems clear until a sudden plot twist changes the entire story?

That is exactly what is happening in 2 Kings chapter 6.

This passage looks one way on the surface, but when you slow down and pay attention to every verse, you realize God is doing something far bigger than what anyone can see with natural eyes. This is a story about vision. Not human vision, but God vision.

And the difference between fear and peace in this story comes down to one thing. What you are able to see.

When Natural Vision Leads to Panic

In 2 Kings 6, the king of Syria is making war against Israel. He carefully plans his attacks, chooses locations, and shares strategy with his army. Every move is intentional.

But every time the king of Syria sets a trap, Elisha hears from the Lord and warns the king of Israel. This does not happen once or twice. It happens repeatedly.

Eventually, the king of Syria realizes the problem is not inside his camp. The problem is Elisha.

So he sends horses, chariots, and a great army to surround the city where Elisha is staying.

When Elisha’s servant wakes up and sees the city surrounded, his response is immediate panic.

“What shall we do?”

That question reveals natural vision. All he can see is danger, threat, and no way out.

The Difference Between the Servant and Elisha

The servant and Elisha are standing in the exact same circumstance.

They are in the same city.
They are surrounded by the same army.
They face the same threat.

Yet they see completely different realities.

The servant sees death.
Elisha sees purpose.

The difference is not circumstance.
The difference is God vision.

Elisha responds with words we see repeated throughout Scripture.

“Do not fear.”

Then he prays a simple but powerful prayer.

“Lord, open his eyes that he may see.”

What God Vision Reveals

When God opens the servant’s eyes, he sees the mountains filled with horses and chariots of fire.

He realizes something he could not see before.

There are more with us than against us.

God vision does not remove the situation.
It removes fear.

When you see what God is doing, panic loses its power.

God Vision Exposes Strategy

God vision does more than bring peace. It reveals strategy.

Elisha already knew the enemy’s plans before the army ever arrived. God had been showing him every move the enemy made. Elisha was not surprised when the city was surrounded.

God vision exposes both the enemy’s strategy and God’s response.

Once you can see what is really happening, you know what to do.

Fear comes when there appear to be no options.
God vision reveals options you could not see before.

When God Flips the Script

After the servant’s eyes are opened, Elisha prays again. This time he asks God to strike the enemy with blindness.

The same confusion that once gripped the servant now grips the enemy.

Elisha tells them something powerful.

“This is not the way. This is not the city.”

Then he leads them straight into Samaria, the capital of Israel.

The enemy thinks they are winning.
God is positioning them for defeat.

This is what God vision does.
It flips the script.

Why God’s Plan Was Bigger Than One Battle

When the king of Israel sees the enemy inside Samaria, he asks a natural question.

“Shall I kill them?”

But God had a bigger plan.

Israel was not just facing one attack. They were dealing with constant raids. Their crops, resources, tools, and families were being stolen again and again.

God was not just delivering Elisha or the servant.
God was delivering an entire nation.

Elisha instructs the king to feed the enemy and send them back to their master.

And the result is clear.

The bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel.

God vision brings deliverance that lasts.

Why God Vision Changes Your Future

Without God vision, people act on fear.
Fear leads to rash decisions.
Fear causes people to quit, give up, or take matters into their own hands.

God vision alters your future because it changes how you respond in the present.

The servant thought the situation was personal.
Elisha knew it was generational.

God vision allows you to see that what you are facing may be bigger than you, and that God is working beyond what you can see.

Why Prayer Is the Priority

Elisha was able to see because he stayed close to the Lord.

God vision is not accidental.
It comes from prayer.

If life feels overwhelming, prayer must become the priority. Not the last resort.

Prayer opens your eyes.
Prayer brings clarity.
Prayer reveals strategy.
Prayer brings peace.

The difference between the servant and Elisha was not talent, strength, or position.
It was time spent with God.

A Prayer for God Vision

Lord, open our eyes.

Help us see what we cannot see with natural vision.
Give us God vision.
Show us Your strategy.
Show us what doors to stop forcing and which doors You are opening.
Blind the enemy and bring deliverance.

We trust that You are working a bigger plan than we understand.

Amen.

Get a free chapter from my new book!

I’m so excited about this book! I didn’t want to write something that simply told about the financial miracles God has done for me. But I wanted to practically help others know how to have the same kind of results. So this book is a playbook. Just like in sports. It will have the story of the need we faced from small to the astronomically huge and how God provided every time. Then we will give you what I call “the play call.” After you understand the Biblical method that was used you are then given a teaching on how to use that knowledge. I can promise it will give you the tools to change your situation and to realize that “You Don’t Need Money. You Just Need God.”

Jaime Luce (00:00.77)
Welcome to the Jaime Luce podcast. Well, today we are still in second Kings and this is part two continuation of the portion we’re reading in chapter six. And I hope that you took the time to listen to last week’s episode because these go hand in hand. So last week we talked about needing to have that prophetic

vision or understanding so to speak there’s a there is discernment actually today we’ll talk about more of the the the insight the seeing but last week it was more about the discerning and Like I said these go hand in hand But there was a little bit too much information to try to give you all in one so I wanted to break it up into two so that we will be doing today, but I wanted you to think about have you ever been to like a really good movie where

You’re going along, you have a grasp on the movie. It’s good, it’s gripping, it’s entertaining, and you’re following the storyline, you know where it’s going, and you’re hoping for a particular outcome, and then bam, major plot twist. I mean, one thing is just throws everything. You’re like, what? You know, what’s happening? How is this going to turn out, and where’s this going now? Because it’s not what you thought it was.

I have, hope you have too, just so that you understand what I’m saying, but that is really what I think is going on in the heart of this chapter. It’s a major plot twist unless you’re picking up on a couple of key verses and a couple of key cues. So last week and I will read the whole portion, second Kings chapter six, and we’re going to read from eight to 23.

But I want you to be paying attention because every single verse, everything that is said is important. It all matters. It’s all very critical. It’s like when you’re watching the mystery movie and on purpose, you don’t realize it unless you’re paying attention that they’re in the shot. They’re letting you see something, you know, whether it’s a piece of evidence or there’s something key, someone standing in the back.

Jaime Luce (02:24.206)
around someone says something and if you’re not picking up on it you’re missing key information to help you know what is then going to come later and that’s really what’s happening here in this passage so I want us to read it and I want you to keep in your mind the consideration of last week where there’s real discerning needed that Elisha showed the

His relationship with the lord we understand he heard from the lord. He was the man of god and he would speak it but then how does that translate to us and that That burden then on us is to be in such a place with the lord to remain close to the lord that his presence is so important in our lives that he can be telling us information that we need that is necessary for our life that we have to discern Is this god do I go this way?

or do I not go this way? And this is the part that Elisha played in this first part of these, this passage where he is by God’s divine intervention, speaking to Elisha, not because Elisha, if you remember, does not like King Jehoram. He very much does not like King Jehoram. and if you go back several, you know, several chapters where he’s dealing with

him and Jehoshaphat and the king of Moa, Edom? I’d have to go back and look at it again. But anyway, they, because of that circumstance, Elisha only gave help. Even though he was in Israel, even though he was the man of God for Israel, he did not like this king and he was not going to intervene for him. He did though, because of the king of Judah.

because of Jehoshaphat. So we know how he feels about him. So God already is showing us that he has a plan and this is about Israel. It’s not about Jehoram. It’s about Israel. It’s about his people because God loves his people. He loves his people and he loves you. He loves his bride. He cares about the church.

Jaime Luce (04:49.538)
And I want you to think about how did God act? What is God doing? And see about how this translates for our lives. Cause what I’m calling today is it is not what you think it is. It is not what you think it is. This is a plot twist. This is not what you think it is. And it will look one way and we will see how God shows us it is something else entirely. So let’s start reading from verse eight and we’ll go through verse

23. I forgot to set my timer. There we go. Okay. Now the king of Syria was making war against Israel. Okay. So he’s making war. We’ll find out later exactly what kind of warfare he was, he was using, but now the king of Syria was making war against Israel and he consulted with his servants saying, my camp will be in such and such a place. So there’s

Plan being formed the strategy for war is being planned and the king is letting his top You know people his whether they’re captains or whoever they are of the army Letting them know this is where I’m going to be. This is where I’m going to Verse 9 and the man of God sent to the king of Israel. So Elisha is who the man of God is So Elisha sent to the king of Israel saying beware

that you do not pass this place for the Syrians are coming down there. Then the king of Israel, because he never trusted in God, he would see the acts of God by Elisha, but he had not changed his ways. He had not put away the idols that his parents served and that he served. He had not cleansed Israel of her sin from all the things that…

them to sin. He wouldn’t clean the land up. He wouldn’t take a stand for God. He would see God move by Elisha but he wasn’t sure because he didn’t have his faith in God. So he says, the king of Israel sent someone to the place of which the man of God had told him. So that means he’s sending a messenger. Find out if what he’s saying is accurate. I don’t trust Elisha.

Jaime Luce (07:16.77)
Thus he warned him and he was watchful there, not just once or twice. So this means this very scenario happened multiple times. The king of Syria is trying to set himself up to make war. And every time he, you know, sets out a plan and gives the information to all those who need that information.

Even though he gets everything in motion, says where he’s going to go, where they’re going to camp, what they’re going to do, Elisha hears from God, this is where he’s gonna be, this is what he’s gonna do. So Elisha sends a messenger to the king and tells him, listen, if you go here, this is where he’s gonna be, I’m giving you a warning, beware, do not go over here. So the king sends somebody to make sure that this information he’s getting is correct.

He’s checking it. Now, last week we talked about how we have to test the spirits. People bring us words, you know, and we need to be responsible with the word of God and his plan for our life. And it doesn’t mean that everything is wrong, but it does mean we have to check it out, you know, so he checks it out. And so far this has happened multiple times. This is this didn’t happen just once or twice. So this has happened multiple times. Verse 11, therefore,

The heart of the king of Syria was greatly troubled by this thing. And he called his servants and said to them, will you not show me which of us is for the king of Israel? And one of his servants said, none, my lord, O King, but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel.

the words that you speak in your bedroom. So he said, go and see where he is that I may send and get him. And it was told him saying, surely he is in Dothan. Therefore he sent horses and chariots and a great army there. And they came by night and surrounded the city.

Jaime Luce (09:37.494)
And when the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army surrounding the city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, alas, my master, what shall we do? So he answered, do not fear for those who are with us are more than those who are with them. And Elisha prayed and said, Lord, I pray

open his eyes that he may see. Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man and he saw and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said, strike this people I pray

with blindness and he struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. Are you paying attention?

Now, Elisha said to them, this is not the way, nor is this the city. Follow me and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. But he led them to Samaria. So now Samaria is the capital of Israel. This is where the king’s at. This is where all of his military is set up at.

So it was when they had come to Samaria that Elisha said, Lord, open the eyes of these men that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes and they saw and there they were inside Samaria. Now when the king of Israel saw them, he said to Elisha, my father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them? But he answered,

Jaime Luce (11:45.644)
you shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them that they may eat and drink and go to their master. Then he prepared a great feast for them and after they ate and drank, he sent them away and they went to their master.

So the bands of Syrians, Syrian raiders came no more in to the land of Israel. Okay, now I know you’ve probably taught many times about the portion and it’s important here where they’re surrounded by this enemy and

The fear of the servant is look, I mean with his natural eyes, he can see there is literally an army ready to come and destroy Elisha and his servant. And Elisha says, Lord, and he prays for him, Lord, open his eyes that he may see. So when he does see, he sees that the mountains are filled, not just this hill that they’ve come over, not just this city, the mountains surrounding them are filled.

with God’s armies. There are horses and chariots of fire. I mean, this is like quite a sight to see. So there’s quite a difference, but there’s something going on here that I want to point out and I don’t want you to miss it because I think this is important for your life. In case you are dealing with trouble or difficulty or, or stress and issues right now, you need to know this is a setup. This isn’t what you think it is.

This isn’t what you think it is. it’s God is always up to something so much bigger. It’s so much bigger than what we usually think about. We think about exactly the thing that’s pressing the button on us. You know, exactly where the pressure point is. And we don’t realize the vision that God has. It is so far greater than your brain could ever comprehend that.

Jaime Luce (14:09.362)
so much more far reaching because your life doesn’t just affect you. It affects all those around you and it affects all those around you not just now in the time that you’re living but folks the decisions that we make and the plans that we make and the things we accomplish for God the things that we do the battles we fight those have effects on later generations.

It’s always so much bigger than what you think it is. It’s why the battle can rage so heavy. It’s not just about you, right? This moment, this thing, this thing that you’re dealing with, it’s bigger than that. It’s bigger than that. And the only difference between standing in the shoes of the servant versus standing in the shoes of Elisha is one thing.

and I want to say that I would call it God vision. It’s vision. The only difference is vision. Okay? Pray for vision. If you can ask God for anything, for anything, pray that your eyes will actually see, that you can see things the way God sees them, that you can see what others cannot see.

that you can see what is necessary to change your thoughts about what you’re dealing with, to change the actions you take. And you will see that Elisha never once took matters into the hands of flesh, so to speak. And I’ll take you through there. Excuse me. Little frog in my throat, but we have to pray for vision.

Vision is imperative. Having correct vision, God vision, is what will remove the crippling fear that comes when under attack. It’s having God vision that will expose strategy. It will not only expose the strategy of the enemy, but once you see the strategy of the enemy, you know what to do.

Jaime Luce (16:33.366)
It’s just like my mom used to always say, Satan, you’ve blown it. You’ve shown me your hand, meaning like a card game. You’ve shown me what you’ve got. You’ve shown me what you’re up to. You’ve shown me too much. And now I know what’s in your hands. So I know how to play. I know exactly what to play. I know what to do. Having God vision gives you vision of strategy.

both of the enemy strategy and also then what your corresponding strategy needs to be. And that’s what we saw in this exact passage. Okay. We’ll go over that more later. Having God vision brings peace instead of crippling fear about what is surrounding you, what the possibilities of that trap are, because to the servant, they were trapped.

Their city was surrounded. It was surrounded by not just an enemy, okay? This enemy was ruthless. We’ll talk about what they were doing in a moment. But they were ruthless. And this enemy was persistent. And this enemy was large enough with enough horses and chariots to surround an entire city.

That’s intimidating because you think there’s no way out. There’s no way out. We’re surrounded. It brings crippling fear, but having God vision, God vision, not your vision, not what it looks like in the natural realm. God vision, having God vision brings peace because you can see what God’s doing, that he’s present and he’s bigger.

and he’s ready for fighting. He’s ready for a war. He’s ready. He’s ready for battle. God vision brings peace in the midst of a storm when it doesn’t make sense. When no one else will have peace, you can have peace if you get God vision.

Jaime Luce (18:43.106)
having God’s vision alters your future because if you don’t have God vision you will act on your natural vision and acting on your natural vision can cause you to make really big mistakes take take matters into your own hands can cause you to quit to give up can cause you to lay down your sword if you don’t understand

the importance of God vision. You can make a decision that alters your life, your children’s life, your grandchildren’s life, your church’s life. You, it’s, it affects the future. God vision, having it will affect your future. will alter your future. Having God vision brings deliverance, brings deliverance. Now we read it. We’re going to

back and talk about it here in a minute. It brings deliverance instead of being trapped. It brings strategy, a plan and deliverance. That’s what God vision does. And having God vision ultimately flips the script. just flips the script. It isn’t what you think it is. It looked like one thing and it’s something totally different here. This poor servant thinks

Okay, I don’t wanna confuse you and I don’t wanna jump around too much. Having the servant’s vision, okay? The servant’s vision is one that, my gosh, we’re gonna die. Having the servant’s vision is this problem I’m facing right now is about my life. I am in danger, Elisha’s in danger, we are going to die.

very singular focused, very inward focused. It is very personal. But what we’re going to see is God all along, and Elisha had this vision, so he already knew. He knew from the beginning. God had been showing him from the beginning what the Syrians were up to, and God had a plan to deal with it from the beginning.

Jaime Luce (21:05.95)
not just at the point that they’re surrounding the city where Elisha is. He was already hearing from God about this. He already knew where the army would be. He already knew every single time that they made a move Elisha knew about it. So he was not surprised when this army shows up surrounding him. The servant was the servant was very surprised. He’s in shock about what’s happening. But Elisha wasn’t he wasn’t in shock about what was happening. So

To the servant, this is personal. This is about his life. But having God vision to Elisha, this is about all of Israel. This isn’t about me. This isn’t about you. This is about all of Israel, all of Israel. Okay, the circumstance that Elisha and his servant faced.

from the outside to any bystander on the outside looked exactly the same.

It’s in natural vision. Everyone comes to the same conclusion. You’re in danger. This is bad. And it’s your life on the line that to the to the outside to natural vision. It looks as if their circumstance is identical. Okay. And without God’s vision, there seem to be no options.

There was no way out. There was no way out. And this is what’s so great about God because there didn’t need to be a way out. But there was no way out. With natural vision, there’s no way out. There is no other option. There is no, that’s why there’s such fear. There is no, there’s nothing that you think you can do to change the circumstance.

Jaime Luce (23:08.78)
with no options, with feeling trapped by a circumstance, you enter into fear almost immediately. Panic just kind of sets in. And sadly, naturally, when panic sets in, literally, the frontal lobes of our brain can’t think straight. We can’t think of options. You can’t focus on options. It’s difficult.

when fear comes in, when emotion comes in, not just fear, when you’re overwhelmed by emotion, it’s very difficult to think. So to the servant, they were sitting ducks and it sure did look that way. But to Elisha, they were on mission. To Elisha, they were on an assignment and that assignment was from the Lord to bring deliverance.

to Israel, deliverance. They needed deliverance. So to the servant, we’re trapped, there’s no way out, there’s no options. But to Elisha, no, this is the circumstance the Lord is using, he’s bringing deliverance. He’s bringing deliverance. You think there’s no way out and yet God’s plan is deliverance and not just for you, but all of Israel. There’s a huge difference there.

Huge difference on how you feel about that, the decisions you’ll make and how that affects you. Huge difference. God wanted to free Israel from constant raids. So if you’ll look with me at the last verse that we read, verse 23 is said that the bands, the last sentence, so the bands of Syrian raiders came no more into the land of Israel. So what had been going on?

It wasn’t just that there was a threat of war and Elisha kept thwarting this plan of war against them. They had to continually deal with being raided. Bands, whole bands of these military guys would come in of Syrians and they would raid everything. If you remember the story of Gideon, it’s much like that. You had Gideon hiding

Jaime Luce (25:37.356)
taking what little wheat he had left and went into the wine press to deal with the wheat because if he were to do it at the threshing floor, he’d have been seen. And if he’d have been seen, then the raiders would have known you have wheat and they would have come in and stolen his wheat. So when the bands of raiders would come, this was a problem. Hi, my name is Jamie Luce. I wanted to share with you some information about a brand new book entitled, You Don’t Need Money.

You just need God. It’s a playbook for miraculous provision. And I want to share it with you because it solves the problem we are all facing right now. The economy is going crazy. Gas prices are soaring. There’s wars and rumors of wars. We’ve got everything hitting us all at once with interest rates rising. You need to know what to do. And so many times we think we need the money, but you don’t need money. I’m telling you, the answer is you need God. And that’s exactly what we want to teach you through this book.

We’ll give you practical ways to know what to do and how to do it so that you get answers now. You can find my book on Amazon. You can also go to jaimeluce.com. You can also find this book at youdon’tneedmoneyyoujustneedgod.com. This book is available today.

When Naaman is brought up and the healing of Naaman, the only reason Naaman knew to go to Elisha was because the bands of raiders had taken prisoners and the little girl who is now serving Naaman in his household is one of the ones who was raided and stolen. So to be raided constantly, your everything, your crops that you had worked so hard to bring, cause your crops were your livelihood.

It not only was what you ate and your substance, but it was in a society where people bartered and sold and it was your financial wellbeing. It was what, how you paid for and took care of your land and all that you had, your crops were the source of money in those days. It was so important. So they would come and raid everything from them, every bit that they worked for the labor and the exhaustion and the, cause it was physical labor too, that they had to work for this.

Jaime Luce (27:55.318)
Because in a moment it could all be taken. Their crops taken, their tools taken, their money taken, their children taken, everything taken. They would come in and they would destroy the land under them, trample underneath foot, destroy things. And this happened all the time. It didn’t take a huge war. You would just have bands of raiders go into an area and raid that area.

And Israel was having this happen constantly. The children of Israel were being raided over and over again by these Syrian bands. And so I’m sure you can imagine how this would feel, right? I mean, for us in our first world circumstance where we are very blessed, we can understand this on a level though, how many feel like you work and work and work and you struggle to get the bills paid, right? It feels like

robbery just to go to the grocery store. It feels like robbery to put gas in your tank. It feels like robbery if you have to pay your mortgage or pay the rent or you know, this is okay. Taxes though legitimately we can be being robbed. Okay. Anyway, keep my personal opinions to myself. It can feel like robbery.

in every form that you feel like no matter what you do or you could be on a job that you’re working and working and you never get the promotion and you never make it ahead and you just feel like you’re constantly the rug is pulled out from underneath you and you’re working hard to start it over again. you know, mean, people had just started businesses and COVID hit and it crippled all those who started businesses. So many businesses went out. It was just so sad.

And then even those kind of in the middle range didn’t survive. Many didn’t survive. And so we can face circumstances. You can have a health crisis come and drain all, not only your physical body, but all of your resources to pay for everything medically that you need to do to get well. If you get well, I mean,

Jaime Luce (30:08.77)
There are so many things we can be dealing with that just constantly feel like we’re raided. I mean, you can be working so hard to build things in a family and traumatic things come into your family and affect your family. Or very difficult things, very personal things, and you can go through divorce and you can have loss of loved ones and you could have estranged family members and

and you just feel like it’s one thing after the other. It just doesn’t stop. It just feels like it’s always right on your heels. just the minute you get it going again, here comes another blow. That’s a band of raiders. That’s exactly what they were dealing with. What about other people in other countries?

They can’t even sleep securely at night. You have people who are literally in their homes, their villages are burned down, their churches are burned down, they are killed from guerrilla soldiers and terrorist groups. Everything just gets burnt to the ground, literally destroyed, burnt to the ground. You have those in countries that are in communist countries that you can’t.

have church service, if they find out that you’re not serving the national God or national church that’s controlled by the government, then you have to go into hiding into underground churches and underground venues. And even then you can be captured and infiltrated and so many pastors and people are imprisoned for life simply from serving God. Bands of raiders.

It happens still today. It still happens today. So when threat hits home and Elisha’s servant hits the panic button, he yells to him. There’s an exclamation point. And he says, what do we do? What are we going to do? He doesn’t know what’s happening. He doesn’t know how to deal with it.

Jaime Luce (32:27.116)
He says to him, he literally says, what shall we do?

And that’s, that is the picture of human vision, natural vision. It’s panic. And we’ve all felt it. All of us. have felt it. We’ve all felt it. Yet Elisha says what God always says. He tells him, do not fear. Doesn’t it seem like, to our natural selves,

not our strong spiritual selves, but to our weak natural selves, doesn’t it seem like an oxymoron that in the face of trouble, do not fear? And yet, if we had God vision, and if we remembered who he was, if we remembered that he’s in our boat, if we remember that he says, never leave you and I’ll never forsake you, if we would remember that all power is in his hand, we wouldn’t fear.

And that we need that reminder. And so many have said this. I mean, I have no reason not to think this is exactly why it’s in scripture 365 times because there are 365 days and we do need a reminder almost daily not to be afraid. I mean, almost daily we need to hear the Lord say to us, don’t be afraid. And yet the one with God vision says, do not fear. Do not fear.

Elisha’s vision brings an answer to his servant. And he says, Lord, he prays for him. says, Lord, open his eyes that he can see. And what does he see? There is more with us than there is with them. There’s more with us. And child of God, I want to say that to you today. There is more with you. There’s more.

Jaime Luce (34:30.124)
with us, the body of Christ. There’s more with us than there is with the enemy. You’re not alone in this fight. You’re not alone to face an enemy. You are surrounded by the one who is in charge and is the captain of the hosts of heaven’s armies. If you understand this one phrase, do not fear.

There are more with us than are with them. If you have understanding of that, then faith can literally turn your panic into peace in a moment. In just a moment. You can have strength hit you in your spirit and faith hits you, cover your mind. You won’t even understand it. So many times it’s happened to me and I’ve heard so many other people say,

I now understand what it means when the scripture says that you can have peace that passes all understanding because to your natural mind, it doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t make sense. But with God, with God vision, it does, it does make sense because you can actually see that he’s with you, that you get that. I don’t know another way to say it, but you, you

It’s like seeing his manifest presence. It’s so felt, it’s so strong that it’s almost as if you see it. And for some people, they see things happen. They see, you know what they usually see? They see the God’s strategy. All of a sudden, they see what the devil’s up to.

or they see what the natural circumstance has produced. Sometimes it’s not the devil, it’s just natural living in this world and you’ve got natural circumstances to deal with. And when you can see it and then you see the God strategy, your ears heard it, your mind understood it, you have this comprehension, you know what to do and it produces faith in you. That is exactly what it is.

Jaime Luce (36:47.448)
to see that there are more with you than are with them.

And for those who belong to God, you have this promise always, that there are more with us than are with them. Our God is the captain of the hosts of heaven’s armies. Do you know that that title, that name of God, of the Lord of hosts or captain of the hosts is mentioned over 200 times in the New Testament?

I’m sorry, in the Old Testament, in the Old Testament. And when you hear the term Lord Almighty, that Lord Almighty is a translation of the Lord of hosts, I love that. know some people, my husband loves the term of heaven’s armies, the description using the word armies, that somehow gives him a picture of it. I love actually the word hosts. To me, the word hosts is so big.

hosts of heavens armies is not just, it’s not just me seeing a military there’s hosts and there’s so many to me. They’re on it’s unseeable how many there are. That’s what that word does for me. I don’t know what word works for you, but for me, I see it. can see it’s heaven is so far beyond me. So huge, so much bigger. It holds eternity. We’re, we’re sitting here on earth in time, but it’s,

It’s so big and God is, is in control of it all. he holds it’s his word that he gives the command and heaven’s armies are unleashed. The hosts of heaven are unleashed on our behalf that this earth, an earth horse or an earth chariot, an earth tank, an earth, whatever, an earth gun.

Jaime Luce (38:50.188)
You know, I think of they’re so far less capable than heavens, whatever heaven uses, whatever might heaven uses, what, know, the angels held a flaming sword. not just a sword. It’s a flaming sword and it’s a two edge sword. The word of God is a two edge sword and it can, it’s so deep. It’s so

It cuts not only in the natural, it cuts in the supernatural, in the spirit. It cuts between thoughts and intentions. I mean, it’s, it’s, that’s unimaginable. What heaven has and what God offers is so superior to anything we have in the natural. And yet we grasp so many times wanting to hold on to the natural.

because we can see it with these natural eyes and, we’re overwhelmed by our natural senses. Can I tell you, it is so far superior to have God vision, God vision, so that you can see what you have in God’s arena available to impact our little natural, our little thing he created.

our little earth here, God, the heaven of hosts, the Lord of heaven’s armies surrounded Elisha and his servant. And I love this. So this gets me all fired up. I was with my mom. It was her birthday the other day and I was with her and we were talking about this cause we just preach to each other. know, we just, it, it,

it’s our favorite thing to do. And we just get so excited and so filled with faith and so happy doing it. And we were talking about this and in verse 11, it says he will surely come out to me. I’m sorry. I’m in the wrong verse. Sorry, sorry, sorry. That was, Naaman, verse 19 in chapter eight, verse 19. Now, Elisha said to them, well, first let’s all back up.

Jaime Luce (41:13.15)
you need to hear 18 sorry. Verse 18. So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord. So we’ve, it’s that it’s last week’s message and we have to stay in that constant contact. He prayed to the Lord and said, strike this people. I pray with blindness. Isn’t that, this is so ironic. Here’s the plot twist, right?

At first, we realize that the servant didn’t even realize he was blind because he had to have his eyes open. The Lord opened his eyes that he can see. His servant didn’t even realize he was blind. And he gets his eyes opened. Elisha prays that his eyes are opened. And here, those who came down and all their natural mustery power and strength and arrogance

think they’re coming against the man of God. This is hilarious to me. This group of Syrians, they’re thick headed, they don’t get it. This is what the devil does. He’s thick headed, he doesn’t get it. He’s bullheaded. Because Elisha is the very one who every time they had a plan, Elisha knew what the plan was and told the king. And that was actually told to the king by these people.

A servant of the king said, no, it’s Elisha who keeps telling where you are. So then the king says, okay, let’s go get him. As if Elisha’s not gonna know that they’re coming. I mean, that cracks me up. How thick can you be? How stubborn and bullheaded can you be? You’re gonna go after the one who hears from God. Don’t you want that reputation? my goodness, do I want this? I want this for myself. I hope you want this for you. I want to be known.

as the one that knows what’s going on and that the devil is so stupid that he would come and attack me and I know exactly where he’s at and I know exactly what he’s doing. That he’s no threat to me. Do you know we can all be that? My grandma was that way. The devil was no threat to her. She used to, there was an old commercial, I think I shared this a long time ago. There was an old commercial for, I think it was either soap,

Jaime Luce (43:37.398)
or deodorant. It must have been deodorant. had to be deodorant. And the commercial for the deodorant said, never let them see you sweat. So meaning you could be under pressure and you could have, you could be nervous, but if you had the right deodorant on it, they’ll never know cause you won’t sweat. So it was a great tagline. Never let them see you sweat. My grandmother used to always say this when she would be praying, never let the devil see you sweat.

Cause like never. And she would actually say, never show the devil fear. That’s what it never show the devil fear. Never. You don’t ever let them, you’re not afraid of him. You know, and she would get fired up. Boy, do we need that instead of being weak and, and pummeled by the enemy. you know, we’re dealing with something right now. My husband’s business he’s, he’s in, he’s in a, you know,

Business is business and you got to fight sometimes in business and he’s in a fight. So I was praying yesterday and crying out to God and I this morning again I was crying out to God about it because I want to know what the strategy is. We’re asking the Lord for that. Everything I’m telling you I’m telling myself preaching to myself. And there came a point today that all of a sudden I literally and this is no joke

I recognize, what is that that I feel? What is that? And it was strength coming where there was fear, where there was like how he said, what do we do? When the servant said to Elisha, what do we do? And Elisha says, do not be afraid. I literally felt like I was living that, okay? Cause fear comes, we don’t know what to do. What are we gonna do? And you can feel like there’s no way out. What do do?

And yet at the same time, all of sudden I could feel strength. I could feel strength. And what I pictured, what came to mind, it wasn’t necessarily a mountain full of flaming horses and chariots, but what did come to my mind was Jesus in the garden and he’s crying out with great drops of blood and ministering angels come and minister to him.

Jaime Luce (45:57.25)
to give him strength for what’s ahead. Now what was ahead? There was still a cross, but ultimately there was a resurrection and all power and it changed everything. It changed everything. And I’m telling you that that’s what I pictured. Okay, ahead. Lord, there’s still something. There’s still something to get through. There’s still something to bear.

But there is victory and deliverance on the other side of this and it changes everything, everything. I could feel that ministry. I feel His presence now.

Jaime Luce (46:42.934)
Lord, for anybody right now who needs that touch, who needs strength today, Father, I just pray right now while we’re in the midst of this teaching that they would feel angelic strength be ministering, minister to their physical bodies, their minds, that strength comes into them, that courage girds them up, and that they feel your power at work.

that they understand that with God vision, there is an agenda that God has. This is not the enemy’s agenda and he’s not going to get the victory. God has an agenda and he’s going to bring about something that changes everything. So we just lay hold of that right now for everyone who’s listening, everyone who by faith lays hold of it right now in the name of Jesus to receive that strength and can have that promise.

that God, are moving on their behalf and it will change everything. It will change everything. You just receive that right now. If you need that, receive that right now. That’s what I received today. That’s what I got.

And this is, I don’t want to miss this, and we’re getting close to wrapping it up. But this is what happens when Elisha, they come down to him and he prays and the script is flipped and he says, put this blindness on them. Let the blindness that my servant had, the fear and the unknown, the confusion about what to do.

Let that come on them. Let the blindness come on them. Lord, make them blind. Now that my servant can see, blind my enemy. May he be just like Haman, hung on his own gallows. Let the same warfare that was used to bring trouble on the servant be now put on the enemy. Put them in derision. Put them into confusion.

Jaime Luce (48:52.302)
let them go blind to their assignment that they don’t know what to do. Okay. Verse this is in verse, um, that was verse 18. Well, let’s finish it. Strike them. pray with blindness and he struck them with blindness. According to the word of Elisha, go to 19. Now Elisha said to them, I love this. This is not the way. And this is not the city. Now I know

You might think, Jamie, what is the big deal with that? That little, I can’t even tell you why it musters me up so much. But I feel it in me. I feel this sentence in me, meaning that I have authority in Jesus Christ. That by the price that he paid for me, I have authority by him. Now without him, I have nothing.

but he resides in me. His spirit lives in me. So by his authority, I can say, no, no, no, the plan you had, no, this is not the way. It’s not going to happen this way. No, this is not the way. And this is not the city. You’re, you’re barking up the wrong tree. This is not the way. And this is not the city. And then he says to them, you follow me. Like you think you’re going to come down here and take care.

take me, now he’s blind. They don’t even know who they’re talking to. They literally don’t know who they’re talking to. They don’t know this is Elisha. They don’t know what’s going on. They’re in total confusion and he says, follow me and I will bring you to the man whom you seek. The man you seek. But he led them to Samaria. He literally flips the script. He sends them to Samaria, leads them to Samaria.

So it was when they had come to Samaria that Elisha says, Lord, open the eyes of these men that they may see. Now he says, okay, Lord, now I want you to open their eyes back up, but now I want you to let them see everything is different. This isn’t what you thought it was gonna be.

Jaime Luce (51:15.146)
It’s completely different now. Do you see all the plot twists here? All the complete script flips. Okay. I know I keep saying that, but I don’t know another way to say it. And the Lord opened their eyes and they saw and there they were inside Samaria. The enemy knows he’s been had. You’re done. Game over. Game over.

Now when the king of Israel saw them, said to Elisha, my father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them? Now you would think, would think that the answer will be yes. Destroy the enemy, destroy this enemy. You would, you would think that, but God had a bigger plan in mind. This is why it is so important to, to get

the vision that God has because if you can get God’s vision you get God’s purpose you understand why he’s doing what he’s doing so that you can let him lead you the way Elisha led them and gave instruction there is a leading of the Lord to take us to the desired end and it’s always bigger than what you think it is God is up to more than what you think he is God didn’t

Yes, they would have destroyed these soldiers who came, but there was still a king of Syria back there. That’s why he says you’re going to send them to their master. The king didn’t come. There are still other armies that didn’t come. There are still bands of raiders that are out there. These were just the ones that came to get Elisha that were sent to get Elisha. This isn’t the whole group. This isn’t the entire enemy. And God wanted to bring deliverance. These people were dealing with constant raids.

God didn’t just want to bring deliverance to the servant. He didn’t want to just deliver Elisha and he didn’t want to just deliver the king. He wanted to deliver these people from the constant onslaught and the issue they were dealing with so that they could have a completely different outcome. A completely different outcome for the entire nation, not just them, the entire nation of Israel. Shall I kill them? And he says, no.

Jaime Luce (53:40.044)
You shall not kill them. Would you kill those whom you have taken captive with your sword and your bow? Set food and water before them, that they may eat and drink and go to their master. This is so interesting. God knew what effect this would have on the king and on send in Raiders in. Then he prepared, the king listened. Thank God he listened. The king listened.

He prepared a great feast for them. And after they ate and drank, he sent them away unharmed, fed their bellies full. Nothing happened to them. I mean, and what a picture of God knew the entire time. Elisha knew the entire time what the plan was. Sent them away to their master. So the bands of Syrian raiders came

no more in to the land of Israel. Now Israel had to still fight wars. There would still be wars that the king wanted to fight because they still always wanted to take their territory. But the people were set free from the constant onslaught. Armies are meant to go to war. Not every person is meant to go to war. These people needed deliverance and God wanted to bring.

that deliverance.

Jaime Luce (55:12.92)
Well, I know I prayed for you earlier, but I just want you to, we’ll pray once more, but I want you to think about this. Think about your life, think about your circumstance, what you’re dealing with right now. And I’m telling you, the only difference, the only difference was having God vision, having God vision.

We have to spend as much time as it takes in prayer, as much time as it takes. If your life feels like it’s crumbling, prayer should be your priority. Not the things that you think will fix it in the natural. Not getting stuck in the natural realm. You have to prioritize prayer. I’m reading a great book right now called, With Prayer. I actually bought the book thinking it meant

like lead your life with prayer, lead your decisions with prayer. And it’s actually about leaders and it affects every person. And it’s a fantastic book. I recommend it highly. It is fantastic. Whether you’re a leader or not, but if you’re a leader, yes, for sure. But even if you’re not, it talks about you still need to lead your life. Be a good leader of your life, of your family, of your

of whatever God is entrusted to you, lead with prayer. And in that place of putting, letting prayer lead you, it is the understanding that you are prioritizing the most important thing. If you have determined to live your life for Jesus Christ, you can’t do that.

without a solid prayer life. You just can’t. And life will be so much harder. It’s so much harder to do in the flesh. I mean, look at the difference between the Elisha and the servant. It’s just so much harder.

Jaime Luce (57:23.97)
And look at the benefits. The king didn’t have to worry about walking into a trap because Elisha was praying. The man of God who was set to watch over, be God’s mediator over Israel, was praying and knew it will make all the difference in the world for your life. It makes all the difference for my life. If I am spending a lot of time in prayer regularly,

Life is just easier. The weights don’t feel as heavy. You can carry them and carry them in faith. It’s when we get bogged down and we start thinking, I don’t have time and we get busy. And before we know it, we realize I didn’t pray. And then it’s one, you know, one day stretches into a week, stretches into whatever. Just start. Don’t worry about feeling guilty about it. Don’t worry about feeling, you know, shame about it. Forget all that. Just pray.

just, just my aunt always says, just repent, just repent and start right now. Don’t, don’t let the enemy hang you up with all that stuff either. That, that, that sounds like that’s more waste of time, more burdens to carry, more traps to walk into. Just pray. Okay. Just pray. So we will, I, let’s just end this. I’m going to pray once more for you. and I just would ask that you would, and I humbly ask this, just really make

Really make this a priority in your life. It will it will change your life Heavenly father we just we come today And we ask like Elisha asked open our eyes We just ask you to open our eyes God cause us to see what we cannot see with our natural eyes Give us God vision Let us see your purpose in it

Let us see what we’re supposed to do, our strategy. Give us wisdom, Lord. Show us what not to do. What doors to stop knocking on. Quit kicking on things, trying to open up things. Just like when you confronted Paul, when he was known as Saul, and you told him it’s hard to kick against the goats. It’s really hard.

Jaime Luce (59:52.692)
And some of us are trying to kick doors down and you’re saying I don’t even have that door for you That’s why the scripture says he will close a door. No man can open But he will also open doors that no man can close Show us where those doors are Lord Open our eyes and we ask right now that you blind our enemy blind our enemy Send them into confusion

Set them right where you want them to bring about a great deliverance. God, we thank you for your word. Thank you for the power of your word, for your willingness to give us the word that we know we can stand on it, that we can trust it’s true, that it’s powerful. We give our lives into your hand today, Lord Jesus. And we ask all of these things in Jesus’ name.
