I’m so excited about this book! I didn’t want to write something that simply told about the financial miracles God has done for me. But I wanted to practically help others know how to have the same kind of results. So this book is a playbook. Just like in sports. It will have the story of the need we faced from small to the astronomically huge and how God provided every time. Then we will give you what I call “the play call.” After you understand the Biblical method that was used you are then given a teaching on how to use that knowledge. I can promise it will give you the tools to change your situation and to realize that “You Don’t Need Money. You Just Need God.”

01:10Jaime Luce: Welcome to the JamieLuce Podcast. Thank you so much for tuning in today. It’s such a privilege

01:16Jaime Luce: for me to be here and to be speaking with you. So I just pray that you will take today’s message

01:22Jaime Luce: and let the Lord really minister to you. He spoke this into my heart and I am so excited to bring

01:31Jaime Luce: it to you. I truly believe this is a word from the Lord for so many today and it has a life giving

01:40Jaime Luce: ability if you will apply the truth and the principles that are found in this. So, you know,

01:46Jaime Luce: I thought of so many different titles that I could have titled this today. I wrote down

01:54Jaime Luce: Leaving the Desert, Entering Your Promised Land, How Did I Get Here, Breaking Down Walls,

02:03Jaime Luce: You’ve Gone Around This Mountain Long Enough, and Facing the Giants. I kind of landed on Facing the

02:12Jaime Luce: Giants and Breaking Cycles. How does that sound? So today I want you to buckle up, get your Bibles

02:20Jaime Luce: for me and something to write with because honestly every single one of these titles would have been

02:26Jaime Luce: appropriate to fit. So if any of those sound like something that pricks your heart, you’re going to

02:31Jaime Luce: want to dig in with me today. And I want to talk about breaking cycles. Now it’s going to talk

02:39Jaime Luce: about all those things that I just mentioned, but we tend to, when we find ourselves stuck in a cycle,

02:47Jaime Luce: we tend to ask some questions and I jotted these down and you might want to see if one of these

02:53Jaime Luce: might want to see if one of these pertains to you today. We ask questions like, why am I still here?

03:03Jaime Luce: How did I even get here? How do I get out of here? When will my time come? Did God say,

03:15Jaime Luce: is there a promised land for me? God, where are you? How long, God? Why, God?

03:30Jaime Luce: Or we’ll say things like, it’s not my fault that I’m here. Or on the other hand, we’ll say,

03:38Jaime Luce: or on the other hand, we’ll say, it is my fault that I’m here. Does any of that sound familiar

03:45Jaime Luce: to you today? It does to me. It registers with me and I’ve got a ton of notes here and I hope I can

03:52Jaime Luce: get through them succinctly with you without keeping you too long. But we’re looking at

04:00Jaime Luce: basically three or four passages of scripture today. And again, I want you to get your Bibles

04:05Jaime Luce: out and something to write with. But we’re going to start in Deuteronomy. And I’m sure that any of

04:13Jaime Luce: you who are familiar with your Bibles know immediately Deuteronomy is packed full of all

04:20Jaime Luce: kinds of God’s promises, the curses, what he was wanting and expecting from the children of Israel,

04:27Jaime Luce: going to the promised land. And then we come up on the spies. They’ve been in the promised land for

04:38Jaime Luce: over a month. And God says, okay, we’re ready to go. I’m ready to take you into your promised land.

04:43Jaime Luce: This was a short period of time. This was just a short journey of leaving behind Egypt, gaining

04:49Jaime Luce: instruction for where God wanted to take them, where he was going to lead them. And then once

04:56Jaime Luce: they get to where they could see the promised land, God says, okay, get together the heads of

05:02Jaime Luce: the families and you’re going to send in spies, 12 of you, one from each tribe, and you’re going to

05:07Jaime Luce: look and see what a great land I have for you. And so Moses sends the spies in and you know the story.

05:13Jaime Luce: When the spies come back, they literally are loaded down with grapes so big it has to be carried on

05:21Jaime Luce: poles between two men because the harvest is so great and the land is so plentiful. It’s a good

05:27Jaime Luce: land. It’s flowing with milk and honey. It’s just what God promised. However, in that land, there

05:33Jaime Luce: were giants. Now, according to God and what God said, I gave you the land. In fact, we’re going

05:39Jaime Luce: to read those scriptures. But 10 of those spies came back with a negative report and said, the

05:46Jaime Luce: land’s going to eat us up. Those giants, we were like grasshoppers in their sight. We can’t do this.

05:53Jaime Luce: In essence, they were rebelling against the command of the Lord to take them into the promise that

05:57Jaime Luce: God had for them. And because of that, we only have two, Joshua and Caleb, who said, we can do

06:05Jaime Luce: this. What are you talking about? This land is ours. God told us it was ours. He gave it to us. We

06:09Jaime Luce: can do this. We can have this. And tried to convince the people to obey God and not to rebel.

06:15Jaime Luce: So let’s look at Deuteronomy chapter one, and we’re going to be looking at verses six and seven.

06:22Jaime Luce: And it says, when we were out Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us,

06:30Jaime Luce: you have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on.

06:42Jaime Luce: Now, I want you to really hone in with me here from the very beginning, because I’m going to

06:47Jaime Luce: give you stuff literally from the very start. You may have already picked up on this as I said this,

06:52Jaime Luce: but I want you to hear this verse again. I’m going to read it again, and I want you to listen

06:56Jaime Luce: with your spiritual ears. Okay? I want you to truly hear what I’m saying here. This is the word of

07:01Jaime Luce: the Lord. I read to you before we started all these possibilities of titles of things that

07:08Jaime Luce: titles of things that probably conjured up some thoughts in your mind about where you might be at.

07:13Jaime Luce: A season you might find yourself in that you think you’re stuck in. A desert land instead of a

07:18Jaime Luce: promised land. Wondering how to get out of the situation that you’re in. I gave you several

07:22Jaime Luce: ideas there, and I want you to think about that. Where are you on that scale? Now, if you’re in

07:28Jaime Luce: your promised land, praise God, you’re going to learn some principles today that will keep you in

07:33Jaime Luce: a promised land so that you don’t end up not in where you need to be. But for those of us who have

07:39Jaime Luce: either just come into something that is a little bit overwhelming or different, and we don’t know

07:44Jaime Luce: what to do with that, or whether we’ve been here a long time and we’re ready, we’re sick of where

07:48Jaime Luce: we’re at. This is a desert place. And in this place, we’re trying to figure out, what do I do?

07:57Jaime Luce: How do I get from here? What’s next? There has to be more, right? I mean, how many of us have asked

08:03Jaime Luce: I have? There has to be more than this. There has to be. God is so much greater, so much bigger.

08:09Jaime Luce: He is the God of the children of Israel who brought them through the red sea on dry ground.

08:15Jaime Luce: And we have to know that our God has not changed. He said of himself, the Lord God do not change.

08:21Jaime Luce: He does not change. So I want to read this verse to you again. Deuteronomy 1, starting with verse 6

08:29Jaime Luce: and 7. When we were at Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us,

08:36Jaime Luce: you have stayed at this mountain long enough. Do you hear it? This is the Lord speaking.

08:46Jaime Luce: This isn’t Moses speaking to the people. This is God speaking. And there are some of you today,

08:53Jaime Luce: you need to hear this in your spirit. You’ve been dealing with stuff. You’ve been grappling

09:01Jaime Luce: with things. And I don’t want to get ahead of myself. We’re going to take that somewhere. But

09:08Jaime Luce: God is saying in this new season that you have been at this mountain. You have stayed,

09:16Jaime Luce: he says. God, this is the Lord saying you have stayed. He’s not saying I’m making you stay.

09:23Jaime Luce: Okay. He’s saying you have stayed at this mountain long enough. It is time to break

09:34Jaime Luce: camp. It’s time to break camp and move on. I read this scripture in several different versions.

09:46Jaime Luce: And they all said that either you stayed at this mountain long enough or you have dwelt,

09:55Jaime Luce: meaning you’ve really lived here. You have parked, set up camp, stayed here, lived here,

10:02Jaime Luce: dwelt here long enough. They all said it. They all said the same thing. And it says that they

10:09Jaime Luce: stayed where? You have stayed at this mountain. We all at some time or another have said

10:21Jaime Luce: and quoted the scripture that this mountain is going to move. Right? This mountain,

10:27Jaime Luce: God’s going to move this mountain out of my way. We know faith moves mountains and we talk and

10:35Jaime Luce: speak to those mountains and we tell the mountain the word of the Lord. It’s not that my words have

10:41Jaime Luce: any power, but I have the power of God’s words in me. His word is that mountain’s going to move.

10:48Jaime Luce: And so if that mountain’s going to move and God is saying you’ve stayed at this mountain long enough,

10:54Jaime Luce: what if, I’m giving you a question, what if the mountain you’re asking God to move,

11:03Jaime Luce: God is actually telling you, you move, not the mountain, you move. Don’t pray to me anymore to

11:11Jaime Luce: ask me to move this mountain. I’m telling you to break camp and move on. You leave this mountain.

11:19Jaime Luce: You’re owning this mountain. You’re living at this mountain. You’re staying at this mountain.

11:25Jaime Luce: And God is saying, no, no more. You’ve stayed here. You’ve lived here. You’ve dwelt here long

11:30Jaime Luce: enough. It’s time to break camp and move on. Break camp. What is breaking camp? Let’s talk about that.

11:38Jaime Luce: To break camp is no easy task. I don’t know if you have ever gone camping. I have. And even if you camp

11:48Jaime Luce: in luxury, even if you have yourself a really nice rig, you still have to break camp. And to break

11:55Jaime Luce: camp means there’s a lot of disassembling and tearing down. Did you hear that? There’s a lot of

12:03Jaime Luce: disassembling and tearing down that needs to take place. This means that before we can move on,

12:11Jaime Luce: there are some things we need to tear down. Write that in your notes. When we know that it’s time

12:19Jaime Luce: to move on, there are things that we are going to have to disassemble or tear down. Tear down

12:27Jaime Luce: can look a couple of ways. So this was a command from God. This wasn’t an option. They had disobeyed

12:37Jaime Luce: before, which was how they got here. To do it again would be utter destruction and disaster.

12:45Jaime Luce: Now why do I say to do it again? I’m jumping ahead. I need you to keep up with where I’m at.

12:50Jaime Luce: Here we go. So the people of Israel did not do what they were supposed to do. They did not break

12:57Jaime Luce: camp when they were supposed to the first time. They did not listen the first time. They were now

13:02Jaime Luce: stuck in a desert for 40 years. 40 years. And I know we like to say, you know, 40 years later,

13:12Jaime Luce: and then they finally got to go in. I hope we realize they didn’t go in. 40 years was enough

13:17Jaime Luce: time for a generation to die. Those people never did get into the promised land. Their children did.

13:24Jaime Luce: Joshua and Caleb and their descendants did. But everybody else didn’t folks.

13:31Jaime Luce: If we don’t break camp and move on when God tells us to, we may never see our promised land. We may

13:38Jaime Luce: never enter into the things that God has designed for our lives if we don’t do it God’s way when God

13:45Jaime Luce: tells us to do it. It’s not a matter of God said it so I get to pick and at some point when I’m

13:50Jaime Luce: ready I’m going to go. You have to go when God tells you to go. So we’re jumping to the people of

13:57Jaime Luce: God with Joshua getting ready to lead them in. Okay, I want you to stick with me. So God gives

14:05Jaime Luce: the command. This isn’t an option. 40 more years isn’t an option. Doing this a second time isn’t

14:13Jaime Luce: an option. A generation represented a life. You don’t have a second life. You don’t get to do it

14:18Jaime Luce: in heaven which you missed out to do in here. You got to do it here. You have one life to live.

14:23Jaime Luce: We read in the Psalms, David says, teach us to number our days. We have to understand we’ve only

14:28Jaime Luce: got so many days and we’ve got to use them. We’ve got to use them wisely folks. We don’t get another

14:33Jaime Luce: chance. There’s not some great, so many times we’re waiting for some, I don’t know, cosmic sign

14:42Jaime Luce: to show us when God’s already given a command. Now if you haven’t been given a command don’t you go

14:48Jaime Luce: but if God’s given you a command you need to go and for some of you today hearing this message

14:54Jaime Luce: this is your command. You’ve been waiting you weren’t sure but you’ve heard it today and now

14:58Jaime Luce: this is your command. The command is break camp and move on. Go forward. Don’t stay here. Get up.

15:09Jaime Luce: Pack it all up and move on. In fact let’s reinforce that. Let’s go to Deuteronomy 2 verse 3.

15:19Jaime Luce: I’m going to read this in several translations for you because I wanted you to hear

15:24Jaime Luce: all the different ways this is said so that this clearly, clearly comes into your hearing and into

15:30Jaime Luce: your heart for you to understand. Deuteronomy 2 verse 3 and listen to the different words used.

15:37Jaime Luce: Okay this is the new international version. You have made your way around this hill country long

15:46Jaime Luce: enough. Now turn north. The new living translation. You have been wandering around in this hill country

15:58Jaime Luce: long enough. The English standard version. You have been traveling around this mountain country long

16:08Jaime Luce: enough. The Berean standard Bible. You have been wandering around this hill country. Did I just

16:16Jaime Luce: read that? I sure did. King James. You have compassed this mountain long enough. The new

16:24Jaime Luce: King James version. You have skirted this mountain long enough. Skirted. That’s an interesting word.

16:34Jaime Luce: The new American standard. You have circled this mountain long enough.

16:44Jaime Luce: NASB 1977. You have circled. Let’s see traveled, traveled, compassed. I think maybe I got them all.

16:54Jaime Luce: Okay let’s go back over those. Oh here’s the good news translation. You have spent enough time.

17:01Jaime Luce: You have spent enough time wandering about in these hills. Let’s see the international standard

17:09Jaime Luce: version. You’ve walked around this mountain long enough. I think I’ve hit them all. You’ve encircled

17:17Jaime Luce: enough to you. Enough. Let’s look at that. The words used that the Lord is saying to his people

17:28Jaime Luce: to describe the time that they’re in and that it’s time to move along is that they have wandered too

17:34Jaime Luce: long, traveled too long, made your way too long. I thought that was interesting. You know what? I

17:42Jaime Luce: didn’t read that one on there. Sorry about that. But made your way. Because so many times we do it

17:48Jaime Luce: our way. We’ve been making our way. Not God’s way. We’ve been doing it our way. We’ve made our way

17:56Jaime Luce: long enough. Compassed, skirted. What does it mean to skirt something? Means you’re not dealing with

18:01Jaime Luce: it. You skirted this. You’re not dealing with this mountain. You skirted around this mountain.

18:07Jaime Luce: You’ve not faced this mountain. You skirted it. You’ve circled it. You spent enough time. You’ve

18:12Jaime Luce: walked around. I bet you can relate just as I can to how these words feel. Listen I get it. I really

18:19Jaime Luce: do. I hear what you’re saying. I do. I hear what you’re saying. But I didn’t. I know that many of

18:26Jaime Luce: you are saying but I didn’t choose to be here. That’s great Jamie. Thanks for beating me up today

18:33Jaime Luce: because I didn’t choose to be here. I know some of you feel that way. You say listen I really

18:43Jaime Luce: do hear these words but I’m here because of somebody else. Somebody either sent me here

18:52Jaime Luce: like Joseph and his brothers. Somebody either sent me here, sold me here, hurt me and got me here.

19:02Jaime Luce: Or you think but it’s my fault Jamie. I’m stuck at this mountain dealing with this. It’s my fault.

19:07Jaime Luce: I did this. I put myself here. I got myself into this mess. I don’t deserve a promised land. God

19:12Jaime Luce: surely wouldn’t want to give me anything now. I’ve lost it all. I lost my opportunity. I said no

19:17Jaime Luce: to God. I did like the ten spies. I didn’t go when I was supposed to go. I didn’t do what I needed to

19:21Jaime Luce: do and we have all these things that roll around in our minds that do what? Keep us circling the

19:28Jaime Luce: same mountain. There are only three possibilities. Write these down. There are only three possibilities

19:34Jaime Luce: that you are where you are right now. So we’re going to deal with them. Number one, the Lord led

19:40Jaime Luce: you there. It is possible that you are in an area circling a mountain but the Lord led you there.

19:48Jaime Luce: Now how do I back that up with scripture? Let’s look at Matthew 4 verse 1.

19:52Jaime Luce: Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

20:02Jaime Luce: The Spirit of the Lord led him there. The Spirit of the Lord led him there. It’s possible that God

20:09Jaime Luce: can lead you into a wilderness season of your life. A situation where he needs to feed you

20:14Jaime Luce: manna and teach you how to get something out of you. How to get Egypt out of you and a promised

20:19Jaime Luce: land mentality into you. There’s times when you have to go through that because you have to learn

20:23Jaime Luce: that. Number two, I got myself here. The children of Israel did not deal with the giants that they

20:33Jaime Luce: needed to face early on and because they didn’t deal with it early on in the journey, they’re now

20:40Jaime Luce: dealing with this 40 years later. Or someone else got me here. Joshua and Caleb. These two men

20:50Jaime Luce: wanted to obey God, were ready to go into their promised land. God was ready. They were ready.

20:57Jaime Luce: But because they were part of this group and the group wasn’t ready, they were forced to wait.

21:03Jaime Luce: For 40 years because of the spies bad report. We are all in one of these categories. If you’re in

21:12Jaime Luce: number one or number three, you can rest assured that God is doing a far greater work for you

21:18Jaime Luce: by you being there right now. However, remember that he will not allow you to be swallowed up

21:23Jaime Luce: while you’re there. If you’re there on his assignment and he will provide for you just

21:27Jaime Luce: as he did for the children of Israel and his provision, his word was the provision for Jesus,

21:33Jaime Luce: even while Jesus was there completely fasting, even bread and water. He has a far greater purpose

21:39Jaime Luce: and blessing for you. Joshua went from being the servant to the leader of millions by enduring

21:51Jaime Luce: and growing during the season, even though he didn’t want to be in that season, even though he

21:56Jaime Luce: wouldn’t have chose that, even though God wouldn’t have actually chose that for him. God had another

22:00Jaime Luce: way and because he was with the people and they wouldn’t listen, they wouldn’t obey, that was what

22:04Jaime Luce: happened. Joshua and Caleb. Caleb took the best of the land even though it was 40 years later.

22:09Jaime Luce: Look at the result. Even though it was somebody else’s fault, Caleb took the best of the land

22:15Jaime Luce: and promise. God gave Caleb exactly what he asked for and wanted, as well as he now has a family who

22:23Jaime Luce: watched and followed his example, who learned how to take territory and take promises just like

22:29Jaime Luce: their father. If you are in group number two, then don’t worry, it’s not too late. If you’re in group

22:39Jaime Luce: one or three, know that God’s got you, but guess what? There’s a time to cross over. There’s a time

22:46Jaime Luce: to break camp. There is a time to actually now move on and enter into your promised land.

22:55Jaime Luce: Folks, I’m not telling you this and feeding this to you because I studied it and I learned it

23:03Jaime Luce: the easy way. I am speaking from experience when I tell you this. My own sweet husband was like a

23:13Jaime Luce: Joshua and a Caleb and I was the one who didn’t face giants. I was the one who was afraid. I was

23:20Jaime Luce: the one who held him back for a period of time that he had to deal with me not facing my giants.

23:30Jaime Luce: He was ready to face them. He was ready. He was ready to deal with whatever needed to get dealt

23:36Jaime Luce: with. It was me. So I know what it feels like. I’m telling you, I understand. I know what it feels

23:42Jaime Luce: like to feel like I put myself here. This is my fault that I’m here. Does God still want to use me?

23:49Jaime Luce: Does God still have something for me? Does our God’s promise is still real for me?

23:56Jaime Luce: This is today your opportunity to hear the word of the Lord.

24:06Jaime Luce: When you’ve been wandering, when you’ve been traveling, when you’ve made your own way and

24:12Jaime Luce: you’ve been compassing, skirting, circling, spending enough time walking around in the

24:18Jaime Luce: desert for a long time, it takes some major doing to break camp and move on.

24:25Jaime Luce: Even though God promised them in Deuteronomy 1 8, listen to what he says, I am giving you all

24:33Jaime Luce: this land to you. I’m giving all this land to you. Go in and occupy it. Go in and live there.

24:44Jaime Luce: Don’t dwell at this mountain anymore. I’ve got a promised land for you to live in, dwell in,

24:51Jaime Luce: occupy, own, use. Oh my gosh, there’s so many things I can think of. Even if this could be about

25:01Jaime Luce: your marriage, this could be about your business, this could be about your family and your children,

25:05Jaime Luce: your ministry, this could be about a new life, turning things around, getting rid of old habits,

25:12Jaime Luce: old addictions, old ways of doing things and having a brand new beginning, a new way to live

25:21Jaime Luce: your life in the promise of God. Even though God promised them and said that he was giving them all

25:28Jaime Luce: to them, they didn’t believe it. Joshua had to remind them. Let’s look at Joshua chapter 2 verse

25:34Jaime Luce: 4. He said the Lord has given us the whole land. He’s not just going to give you a part. He’s not

25:42Jaime Luce: going to punish you and tell you you blew it and because you blew it, I’m not giving you that promise

25:47Jaime Luce: anymore. I’ve modified it. I’ve cut it all up and changed it all up and you get a little sliver.

25:53Jaime Luce: That’s not what God did. He said, all right, we’re doing it. We’re moving forward. If you will obey

25:58Jaime Luce: me and you will follow my commands, the word says you will eat up the good of the land. We get to

26:03Jaime Luce: have the whole land, the whole promise, the whole promise. What has God promised you? I don’t know

26:09Jaime Luce: what he’s promised you, but whatever he’s promised you, don’t let the devil do to you what he did to

26:14Jaime Luce: Eve. Don’t question God and say, did God say yes, God did say. Don’t you let the enemy let you turn

26:22Jaime Luce: loose of that. You take hold of that word. Do it like a locked jaw animal. Don’t let that thing loose.

26:29Jaime Luce: Hold on to that word. In fact, when Joseph was having to hang on to his word, the word tells us

26:35Jaime Luce: that the word tested him while he was in the waiting time. That word tests us. Do you believe

26:41Jaime Luce: God? Are you willing? Do you still believe that God’s going to do what he said he would do?

26:46Jaime Luce: I know that the promise seemed almost impossible in the face of what moving forward entails.

26:51Jaime Luce: We can never look to the work. We can never let the work, excuse me, we can never let the work stop

26:57Jaime Luce: the process, no matter how daunting or terrifying the work and the fight might be. Don’t let the

27:04Jaime Luce: work itself be what stops you. Don’t let knowing it’s going to be hard stop you. Don’t let knowing

27:10Jaime Luce: that there’s going to be struggle and pain with this stop you. The promise is worth it. Break this

27:16Jaime Luce: down. Break this camp up. Don’t stay at this mountain any longer. It’s time to move on.

27:28Jaime Luce: We can easily, easily fall into the trap of the me against them scenario when it’s time to move on.

27:37Jaime Luce: I want to show you because Joshua faced this head on. Turn in your Bibles to Joshua 5 and we’re

27:43Jaime Luce: going to look at verses 13 to 15. It says, now it came about when Joshua was by Jericho. It’s time

27:49Jaime Luce: to go in, right? Jericho is the first place they have to go in at. He raised his eyes and looked.

27:59Jaime Luce: Okay, now this is my side note. I’m breaking off a scripture. This is Jamie. When you look, really

28:05Jaime Luce: look, lift your eyes and look at your problem and assess how difficult it will be. You raise

28:13Jaime Luce: your eyes and you look on your Jericho. Okay, we’re going to look at it the way that Joshua

28:22Jaime Luce: raised his eyes and looked at his Jericho. Now I’m going to keep reading. And behold, now look at

28:29Jaime Luce: this. A man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand and Joshua went to him

28:38Jaime Luce: and said to him, now listen to what Joshua says to him and hear what the answer is.

28:44Jaime Luce: Are you for us or for our enemies? Now we get caught in this a lot.

28:54Jaime Luce: It’s, it’s, we want to know if whatever we’re having to do and whoever we’re having to deal with,

29:01Jaime Luce: we want people to pick our side. We want people to agree with us and tell us,

29:09Jaime Luce: I believe you. It’s not your fault and you don’t have to worry about this. That’s not your

29:15Jaime Luce: responsibility. And even though people mean well, even though people mean well, that is not how God

29:24Jaime Luce: wants us to look or lean. Okay. To lean on something is to gain strength from something,

29:32Jaime Luce: to keep you in a mindset that moving forward is a me against somebody, a me against an enemy. Okay.

29:42Jaime Luce: God has made you a victor. You are victorious. And so you have to look at this through different eyes.

29:50Jaime Luce: You have to see this the way that God sees this. Now we can see it in scripture, how God sees it.

29:54Jaime Luce: So let’s look at this. It says that he said to him, are you for us or for our enemies?

30:01Jaime Luce: When we’re trying to evaluate who and what we trust in order to go forward, we get into

30:07Jaime Luce: self-preservation mode. Joshua was asking, are you on my side or on somebody else’s side?

30:15Jaime Luce: But what did God say? God says, that’s the wrong question. You’re asking the wrong question.

30:22Jaime Luce: Moving forward isn’t based on who is with you. It is based on who you are with.

30:30Jaime Luce: Did you hear me? Let’s say that again. Moving forward isn’t based on who is with you.

30:38Jaime Luce: If you’re waiting for someone to come get with you, if you’re waiting for that help to come from

30:42Jaime Luce: somebody else, you’re asking the wrong questions and relying and leaning on the wrong thing.

30:48Jaime Luce: That’s the arm of the flesh. It’s not based on who’s with you. It is based on who you are with.

30:57Jaime Luce: Let’s look at verses 14 to 16. He said, rather, this is the rest of that conversation, rather,

31:03Jaime Luce: this is the angel.

31:25Jaime Luce: Look at what the message of the Lord was.

31:28Jaime Luce: This is vital, folks, that we get this. It’s so important. You don’t want to miss this.

31:36Jaime Luce: Joshua realizes, oh my gosh, this is God. He sent an angel to speak to me. The word of the Lord is

31:41Jaime Luce: coming to me. And he’s saying, there is no us in them. It’s are you with me? Are you on my side?

31:50Jaime Luce: Are you in this for me? For what I told you? To obey me? Or are you in this for you?

31:55Jaime Luce: To obey me? Or are you in this for you? Are you in this for what you can get out of it?

32:01Jaime Luce: Are you in this relationship with the Lord because you’re expecting him to do things for

32:04Jaime Luce: you that you want him to do and you figure this is the only way to do it?

32:09Jaime Luce: Or are you doing it for the Lord and then reap all the benefits the Lord has designed for you?

32:16Jaime Luce: You have to be with the Lord. You have to be with the Lord.

32:20Jaime Luce: When God wants to take you and where he wants to take you, you can’t go in the flesh.

32:27Jaime Luce: Your way and your provision won’t get it done. How do I know? What was the rest of what this

32:34Jaime Luce: angel told, told Joshua? He said, remove your sandals from your feet for the place where you

32:43Jaime Luce: are standing is holy. And Joshua did so. Joshua knew, I’m your servant. He threw himself and

32:53Jaime Luce: bowed to the ground and said, I’m your servant. He’s told to take off his shoes that the ground

33:04Jaime Luce: he’s standing on is holy. What does that mean? What does that mean? He’s told to take off his

33:12Jaime Luce: what does that mean? It means you can’t get there in the flesh. Your regular gear, your normal way,

33:22Jaime Luce: the way you would, you’re not going to get there in the flesh. The way you need to go and the

33:27Jaime Luce: provision you need to go in that doesn’t come from your humanity, your dirty shoes. They’re

33:32Jaime Luce: not going to take you there. This is a holy mission, a God appointed commission. It’s holy.

33:43Jaime Luce: You can’t take down Jericho sized walls that took years to build that are fortified walls so thick

33:51Jaime Luce: that chariots could race on top. There’s no way you’re going to take that down and enter into

33:55Jaime Luce: your promised land doing it with your dirty old sandals in your own humanity.

34:02Jaime Luce: There’s one way folks and it’s the holy way. It’s God’s way. It’s the only way.

34:11Jaime Luce: Before you advance, you must understand and position yourself according to God’s instructions.

34:17Jaime Luce: It’s going to take following the spirit of God. Let’s look at what Joshua was up against. I mean,

34:24Jaime Luce: let’s really look at this because I bet you’re thinking you have no idea how big my mountain is.

34:28Jaime Luce: He was a man who wandered in the desert that someone else’s decision kept him in for 40 years

34:35Jaime Luce: and yet God allowed it. Though God chose Joshua to now lead this people, he in essence though

34:43Jaime Luce: inherited all of Moses’s responsibility and all the problems that came with that responsibility.

34:51Jaime Luce: A stubborn and disobedient people. This is really hard demanding arduous training.

35:02Jaime Luce: Really tough training ground but God was in it. God had not abandoned him in that time

35:10Jaime Luce: and God has not abandoned you. He is working a far greater glory.

35:19Jaime Luce: If you will allow the Lord to make you in this process, prepare you in this process,

35:26Jaime Luce: you like Joshua will go from being a servant to being a leader. To being one who can lead people

35:36Jaime Luce: into promise even if those people are your very family like Caleb did for his family.

35:45Jaime Luce: It takes total surrender to God’s will and the fire of refinement that can actually feel like

35:53Jaime Luce: a torment sometimes. How is this encouraging? I’m telling you it’s encouraging because that

36:01Jaime Luce: promise is just on the other side of that obedience, of that surrender, of that trust

36:10Jaime Luce: and that faith of walking after the spirit and not after the flesh. And now that the time had

36:15Jaime Luce: finally come let’s look at what he faced. He not only faced the giants that he knew were in the

36:22Jaime Luce: land itself but it would take breaking down and getting past the walls that guarded that land

36:31Jaime Luce: first. Joshua 6-1, let’s turn there, Joshua 6-1 says, now Jericho was tightly shut because of the

36:43Jaime Luce: sons of Israel. No one went out and no one came in. Do you feel trapped? Do you feel like walls

36:55Jaime Luce: have been built so high to protect your heart, to protect your circumstance that you can’t get out

37:03Jaime Luce: of them? Or do you feel because the people of Jericho couldn’t go out, they were trapped behind

37:09Jaime Luce: those walls and yet the children of Israel couldn’t get in? You’re trying to break in,

37:16Jaime Luce: you’re trying to break through, you’re trying to get a breakthrough. My goodness how many of us

37:21Jaime Luce: want to break through right? You want to break through and the walls were so tightly shut up

37:27Jaime Luce: they couldn’t break through these walls. Those walls were 13 feet high, 6 feet thick and they

37:35Jaime Luce: had a watchtower 28 feet tall. That really hit me because when I realized it was a watchtower

37:44Jaime Luce: it’s like hmm when you think about that and a watchtower that is somebody is up there at

37:49Jaime Luce: tremendous heights behind very fortified walls who is looking to make sure that nobody gets in

37:57Jaime Luce: and nobody gets out. Talk about extra security, talk about an enemy who has tried to keep you out

38:03Jaime Luce: of your promised land and they’re doing everything they can. No one gets in, no one gets out and

38:10Jaime Luce: someone is watching around the clock from a height that they can see far into the distance.

38:19Jaime Luce: There was someone in that watchtower who was doing his best to keep Joshua out but we have to

38:28Jaime Luce: remember what did the Lord say? It’s not you against him, it’s are you with me? Are you with me?

38:37Jaime Luce: Remember that. The angel said this is holy ground. He told him this is where you have made the

38:45Jaime Luce: decision. Are you on the Lord’s side or on your own side? Okay this is a holy mission, it’s God’s

38:53Jaime Luce: mission, it’s a holy commission and on top of that this is something that you can’t do in your

38:58Jaime Luce: flesh anyway. These walls are fortified. Joshua was given the holy strategy to know what to do though

39:05Jaime Luce: to bring down those walls. We don’t have a recording of the angel saying to him what this was but we

39:11Jaime Luce: clearly see after this encounter that Joshua knows exactly what to do and gives very specific

39:18Jaime Luce: strategic things for the people of Israel to do in order for these walls to come down.

39:24Jaime Luce: It wasn’t by might, it wasn’t by power, it was by the Spirit of God. So if you feel weak today and

39:31Jaime Luce: you think I don’t have might, I don’t have position and power, I don’t have influence, that’s okay.

39:36Jaime Luce: You don’t need those things. For Joshua it wasn’t by might and it wasn’t by power, it was by the

39:42Jaime Luce: Spirit of God. They were instructed though, now hear me this is really important, they were

39:47Jaime Luce: instructed not to say a word. The continual problem, the children of Israel were constantly

39:56Jaime Luce: reprimanded by the Lord was for their mouths. They continually complained and murmured. God hated it.

40:06Jaime Luce: He said over and over again to them that he took care of them all along their journey. He had made

40:13Jaime Luce: a way for them, did miraculous signs and wonders. In fact let’s look at what God said in Numbers

40:21Jaime Luce: 14-11. I want us to look at this and again I’ve printed this off in several different translations

40:26Jaime Luce: because I want you to hear this. It says Numbers 14 verse 11, this is the new interment, the NIV,

40:34Jaime Luce: the Lord says to Moses, how long will these people treat me with contempt? How long will they refuse

40:44Jaime Luce: to believe in me in spite of all the signs that I have performed among them? The NLT says, how long

40:53Jaime Luce: will these people treat me with contempt? Will they never believe me after all the miraculous signs I

41:01Jaime Luce: have done among them? The ESV, how long will this people despise me? The Berean study Bible, how long

41:12Jaime Luce: will this people treat me with contempt and how long will they refuse to believe in me?

41:20Jaime Luce: I mean they go on and on. They literally, I wrote down, I went through these and wrote these down

41:25Jaime Luce: for you just so you could see them. This is how the Lord describes the way the children of Israel

41:30Jaime Luce: have dealt with God. Even though he has cared for them, every day made sure that they always had the

41:35Jaime Luce: food they needed every day, every supply was met, their shoes never wore out, their clothes never

41:40Jaime Luce: wore out, they were not. He provided everything. They had heat when they needed it, cool when they

41:45Jaime Luce: needed it, they had their enemies cut off from everything they need in God’s life. He says, they

41:50Jaime Luce: treat me with contempt, they despise me, they provoke me, they do not believe in me, they are

41:55Jaime Luce: disrespectful to me, there were versions that say that they spurn me, they reject me, and they anger

42:02Jaime Luce: me. Do you hear what our complaining mouths sound like to the Lord who has been so good to us?

42:10Jaime Luce: That’s what God hears. What God hears is you’re despising him, provoking him, treating him with

42:17Jaime Luce: contempt, you don’t believe in him, you’re disrespectful to him, you spurn him to anger,

42:22Jaime Luce: you reject him. Folks, we have to understand what we’re doing. We know that the power of life and

42:30Jaime Luce: death is in the tongue, and God is listening to what we’re saying. He hears your complaints. Even

42:37Jaime Luce: Moses, God told Moses, these people aren’t complaining against you, they’re complaining against me.

42:43Jaime Luce: They’re complaining against me. But let me remind you that God did not bring you this far

42:49Jaime Luce: to only bring you this far. God has not brought you this far to just leave you here.

42:56Jaime Luce: It’s time to break camp. Are you hearing me today? It’s time to break camp. Tear down what you need

43:02Jaime Luce: to tear down, disassemble what you need to disassemble, get out of self-pity, don’t make it

43:08Jaime Luce: about me versus them. It’s time that we leave this mountain. We’re not going to live at this mountain

43:15Jaime Luce: anymore. It’s time to move on. It’s time to face the giants that we have allowed to taunt us and

43:21Jaime Luce: hold us back from all that God has destined for us. It’s time to bring down the walls that have been

43:28Jaime Luce: built to keep us out of our promises. It’s time to join the Lord on his holy mission. We need to take

43:36Jaime Luce: off our shoes, the shoes of the flesh, and walk by the leading of the Holy Spirit. It’s time to stop

43:44Jaime Luce: complaining. So Joshua did what he was commanded. He led the children of Israel to march around

43:52Jaime Luce: those walls for six days and not say a word. But on the seventh day something changed. Let’s go to

43:59Jaime Luce: Joshua chapter six. I’m going to read verse 15-16 then drop to verse 20. Verse 15 says,

44:07Jaime Luce: on the seventh day the Israelites got up at dawn and marched around the town as they had done before.

44:16Jaime Luce: But this time they went around the town seven times. The seventh time around as the priest

44:25Jaime Luce: shouted the long blast on their horns, Joshua commanded the people shout for the Lord has given

44:34Jaime Luce: you the town. Let’s go to verse 20. When the people heard the sound of the ram’s horns,

44:42Jaime Luce: they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly the walls of Jericho collapsed and the Israelites

44:51Jaime Luce: charged straight into the town and captured it. They completely destroyed everything in it with

44:59Jaime Luce: their swords. When I read that I about shouted myself right out of my chair,

45:05Jaime Luce: you and I have the sword of the Lord. The word of God is our sword. They destroyed,

45:13Jaime Luce: completely destroyed everything in it with their swords, with their swords. Your Bible is the sword

45:21Jaime Luce: of the Lord. You will completely destroy the enemy and bring down those walls. You will cut down

45:29Jaime Luce: every giant that stands in your way with the sword of the Lord in your hand. Do you hear me today?

45:39Jaime Luce: It’s time to break camp and move on. It doesn’t matter how big the walls are or how many giants

45:48Jaime Luce: there are that you still have to face. We are on a holy mission and God has a promise waiting for

45:55Jaime Luce: you. If we will do the work, God will bring the reward. Let’s pray. Father, we just thank you

46:06Jaime Luce: for the promises that you have made us, that you have not changed your mind and you are still the

46:13Jaime Luce: God of the Bible. You’re still the God of the heavens. You’re still the God of the impossible.

46:20Jaime Luce: You’re still the creator. You’re still the one who makes something out of nothing. You’re still the

46:25Jaime Luce: one who takes us through a red sea on dry ground. You are still our God and you have not changed.

46:33Jaime Luce: Neither has your promise for us. So today, Father, we make up our minds. We agree with you. We believe

46:42Jaime Luce: in you. We will not treat you disrespectfully. We will not scorn you. We will not, Father, treat

46:48Jaime Luce: you with disdain and complain against you. We will receive your commands and we are going to disassemble

46:56Jaime Luce: this camp. We’re going to tear down what needs to get torn down. We’re going to face those giants.

47:03Jaime Luce: We’re going to burst through those walls and we’re going to take our promises because you’re

47:09Jaime Luce: faithful. We’re on your side. Father, we give you all the glory and all the praise

47:16Jaime Luce: for where we’re going and what will take place. You will see to it that we have everything we need

47:22Jaime Luce: for it is not by might and it is not by power but by my spirit, sayeth the Lord. Thank you, Father.

47:29Jaime Luce: We give you the praise in advance. We wait for your instructions and your strategies but we

47:35Jaime Luce: are moving on. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. Amen. Well, folks, thank you so much for joining me today.

47:45Jaime Luce: It was my joy to be with you and to just deliver from my heart what I really felt the Lord lay on

47:51Jaime Luce: my heart for you today. I hope you take it. I hope you make it yours. Spend some time in prayer. Get

47:57Jaime Luce: clarity. Let the Lord show up. He might even send an angel to bring instructions to you. Who knows?

48:03Jaime Luce: But if this was a blessing to you today, do me a favor. Would you like and share?

48:08Jaime Luce: We just want to get the gospel out to as many who are hurting and need to know the gospel of the

48:13Jaime Luce: good news of Jesus Christ and that the Lord is on our side. Well, no, that’s wrong. We’re on his side

48:19Jaime Luce: and he’s doing great and mighty things. We’ve got so much to do and so little time to do it,

48:24Jaime Luce: so let’s get after it, right? So do that for me. Like and share. If you’re listening to this on
