- The importance of renewing your mind
God provides us with the strength to face our challenges and protect us. He performed miraculous signs and wonders to prove who he is, and we can use the Word of God to make it personal to our own lives. It is important to be aware of the people around us and the power of our words and actions. Moses sent 12 spies to the promised land to look for its size, people strength, and the fruit of the ground.
(0:09:42) – Power of Belief and God’s Promises (6 Minutes)
We explore how the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron after being brought into the wilderness, and how the Lord appeared to them and reminded them that He is with them. We contemplate the Lord’s perspective on our behaviour and His promises, and examine the power of our minds to determine our outcomes. Finally, we look at how now is the time to believe in God’s promises and lay hold of them.
(0:15:18) – Embracing Uniqueness and Obedience (12 Minutes)
We consider how comparing ourselves to others can be detrimental to our growth and development. We discuss the ways in which we are all unique, from our parents, our DNA, our place of birth, our race, our personality, and our family. We learn that we are far superior at being ourselves and that no one else can produce what God has designed for us. We also learn that it is important to not mistake other people’s charisma for God’s favor and to not confuse gifts with obedience. Ultimately, we understand that God chooses who he chooses because of obedience and faithfulness.
(0:27:13) – Overcoming Slavery Mindsets (6 Minutes)
We examine how the mindset of the Israelites kept them bound in slavery, even after God had delivered them from bondage. We explore how thoughts of powerlessness and insignificance can keep us from seizing the opportunities God has given us. We also discuss the difference between adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing, and how these concepts relate to our potential to create and achieve success. Finally, we reflect on the danger of comparing ourselves to others, rather than focusing on our own personal growth.
(0:33:25) – The Power of Godly Thoughts (6 Minutes)
We explore the scientific concept of neuroplasticity, which shows that the brain can change. We learn that we need to think Godly thoughts and have the mind of Christ. Finally, we consider how our thoughts and feelings lead to our actions and choices.
(0:39:43) – Overcoming Toxic Thoughts and Renewing (13 Minutes)
I invite you to consider the power of your thoughts and how they can keep you in bondage or set you free. We examine how the Israelites grumbled and complained against God’s provision, and how this mindset kept them in slavery. We also discuss the scientific concept of neuroplasticity and how it shows that the brain is capable of changing. Finally, we look at how the renewal of our mind, through testing and discerning the will of God, can lead to good, acceptable, and perfect outcomes.
(0:53:12) – Choosing Life and Living in Blessing (16 Minutes)
It’s time to take action and embrace the promises of God. We examine how the Israelites were offered a promise of victory and freedom but instead believed the bad report and refused to renew their minds. Deuteronomy 7:17-24 reveals how God is in our midst and will clear away our enemies little by little. We must be willing to go through the process and fight, but we will win with God’s help. We must not settle for freedom but instead take possession of our promised land and live in a life of total freedom and blessing.

I’m so excited about this book! I didn’t want to write something that simply told about the financial miracles God has done for me. But I wanted to practically help others know how to have the same kind of results. So this book is a playbook. Just like in sports. It will have the story of the need we faced from small to the astronomically huge and how God provided every time. Then we will give you what I call “the play call.” After you understand the Biblical method that was used you are then given a teaching on how to use that knowledge. I can promise it will give you the tools to change your situation and to realize that “You Don’t Need Money. You Just Need God.”

if there be any virtue, anything virtuous about it. That means, when you’re thinking about your spouse, think about all the things that are virtuous about that person. Don’t think about all the negative things. Don’t think about the things that challenge you, because they’re just challenges. Don’t think about the things and maybe they’re challenges because you need to grow in an area. What about that? What if we need to grow and the Lord chose somebody for our lives because he knew all right, iron sharpens iron and you need to be challenged in this area. You need to grow in this area, but it’s uncomfortable. It’s uncomfortable. We don’t want to do that. I prefer to do it the way I do it. I’m comfortable with my way. You’ll never grow if all you care about is comfort. If comfort is your number one priority, you will not grow and you will not take your promised land and you will die in that.
00:58
Welcome to the Jamie Loose podcast. Thank you for joining me today. I want to start this off because we’ve got a great podcast for you today. I am really excited about this. I’ve got a lot to give you and I think you’re going to really want to go back and listen to this over and over again and get this deep inside of you. This is life changing today. I want to say right off the bat if you’re ready to listen, please perk up your ears and hear me. It’s time to move. I’m declaring to you today it’s time to move.
01:34
I’ve got some really great references, a lot of scripture. You’re going to want to take notes today, so let’s get started. If you will get your Bibles out with me, let’s go to Numbers. We’re going to look at chapter 13 and we’ll read quite a bit of scripture today. I’ve got several backup references and a bunch of just additional things. There’s nothing more powerful than the Word of God, but we’re also going to give you some science today to back up the Word of God.
02:07
Like I said, I’m really excited about this. I’ve said this before and there are so many ways that we need to study the Word of God. We need to take it and examine it for its history. We need to examine the Word of God for the way it plays out, the way we learn about God, the way we learn about where Christianity came from, the way that we watch Jesus in his life, the way that we understand our call to be disciples of Jesus, the way that we learn to walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh. It is endless what we could learn and what we could glean, but I think, in order to properly look at the Word and be able to take it and make it matter in our lives I mean, if you’ve been reading and you just feel like I’m reading the Bible, but how does this apply to me? How do I use this? Or it just feels like I’m reading a book versus I’m learning how to literally take the Word of God and walk it out, making it mine, making it very personal.
03:23
There are some challenges that we will face as Christians and we’re going to talk about some of these challenges today. I hope that you have made a decision that you want to grow. If you want to grow in the Lord, I mean, if you want a one-time growth, like take a pill, do some growing, kind of like going to the gym Wouldn’t it be great if we could one and done it? If you go, you do all this work and then, wow, you’re there. Well, I can promise you this If you will listen very closely today and if you will make this message a life message for you, you will have growth literally every day of your life, you will grow. This will cause growth today, this will cause some light bulbs to go off today and this will cause growth in your life.
04:15
So let’s look at Numbers, chapter 13, and we’re looking at the children of Israel. They have come out of Egypt. They have watched the miraculous signs and wonders that God did to prove who he was to them, to prove that he had a plan for them and that he was able to perform it. And not only was he able to protect them, provide for them and perform the miraculous and give them what he’s promised them, but he is able to do so and enable them to conquer every enemy that they face, every situation that comes upon them. They struggled with all kinds of things on their journey and if you listen to our last episode, I encourage you to do that, because I try many times to kind of get into a little bit of a series and not intending to, but following the path of Scripture. And when we do that we can see the patterns and how they build.
05:15
And in our last episode we really talked about grumbling and complaining and making sure you understand who the people are that are around you, how strongly they affect you for good or for bad. And this is important and we’ll take that. Let’s take that information, let’s bring it up, let’s bring that information to the forefront and have that rolling around in our mind. And then now we’re going to take it and go even deeper. So this is a little bit even more foundational. Okay, that’s almost like a building structure, understanding not to grumble and complain. That’s a building structure, but we’re taking it deeper, we’re taking it down to the foundation today. So, like I said I’ve said it many times, I’ve given you time to get there Numbers, chapter 13. And we’re going to start reading in verse 25.
06:05
And this is when Moses gets the first group of 12, the heads of each tribe, and he’s going to take them in and tell them go, spy out the land, go look and see what God has promised us. Tell us everything about it, tell us what we need to know so we can prepare. He says I want to know how good the land is. I want to know the size of the people living there. Are these people strong? Is the fruit of the ground good? Is this a good land of battle? Tell us, is this a fortified city? Do they live in tents or homes Like what are we coming into? What has God prepared for us? What’s in front of us? And this is really important, because we should all do this.
06:49
When God calls you for something, you need to take time to say okay, what is he really calling me to? I need to do a little homework, I need to figure it out. If he’s calling you to something that you’ve never done before maybe you’ve known a particular aspect of that, but you’ve not gone further in that Well then, you need to do some work. You need to check it out. You need to see what is God calling me to? What does this look like? What am I not up against, though? That’s important that you need to know what’s in front of you. Are there mountains? Are there obstacles that I need to deal with? And you need to know them, not because those obstacles are going to get in your way. You simply need to know how to prepare to go in and be an overcomer over whatever those obstacles are. Okay, this is part of the process, so we’re looking at this.
07:38
The spies are being sent in and they have spent 40 days, so this is where we pick it up. At the end of 40 days, they returned from spying out the land and they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Peran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation and showed them the fruit of the land and they told him we came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey and this is its fruit. However, the people who dwell in the land are strong and the cities are fortified and very large, and besides we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell on the land of the Ngev, the Hittites, the Jebusites and the Amorites dwell in the hill country and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the Jordan. But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it. Then the men who had gone with him said we are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are. So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying the land through which we have gone to spy it out is a land that devours its inhabitants and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim, the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim, and we seem to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them. Now I want us to continue reading. I’m reading into chapter 14, verses 1 through 11. This is important for continuity.
09:41
Then all the congregation raised a loud cry and the people wept that night and all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. We’ve seen that before. The whole congregation said to them would that we had died in the land of Egypt or would that we had died in this wilderness? Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt? And they said to one another let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt.
10:14
Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the people of Israel, and Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jefina, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes and said to all the congregation of the people of Israel the land which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey. Only, do not rebel against the Lord and do not fear the people of the land, for they are bred for us. Their protection is removed from them and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them. Then all the congregations said to stone them with stones, but the glory of the Lord appeared at the tent of meeting to all the people of Israel. And the Lord said to Moses how long will this people despise me and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of all the signs that I have done among them? We’ll stop right there.
11:26
There’s plenty more to read about this, but we’ll stop right there. I’m declaring to you today it’s time to move. There is never a time that is going to be faster or more prepared. There will never be a better opportunity Now.
11:50
I’m saying that because we know if you know the rest of the story because of this bad report, they didn’t go in and because they didn’t go in, that generation died and it was their offspring who had to go in and take the land A severe price to pay for grumbling, complaining, not believing in the Lord. He listed so many things and God thinks of it in a very particular way. He thinks of it as despising him In God’s perspective. Our God, who made us, who declares to us what is right and what is wrong, who declares what is holy and righteous and what is evil and filthy, this God is the one who tells us and reads our mail, telling us what’s really going on in our hearts. And the Lord was saying they despise me, they despise me. We really need to think about that. That’s not the full length of and the depth of where I’m going, but that we need to understand how God’s perspective is, what God thinks, what God says. Anyway, this is your very best and your very fastest opportunity to attain the promise that God has made to you.
13:20
If you know right now that God has said something to you and if you don’t, okay, before I even go there. If you don’t, if you feel you’ve not heard from the Lord, if you feel you don’t know a direction to go, if you’re confused about the direction to go, I don’t want you to be discouraged. I want you to understand that the Lord has you on his mind, in his heart, a plan for you, a desire for your life, a will, a will for your life, and if you will say yes, the Lord will unfold that will to you. But for those of you today who know what God has said, you’ve heard, even if it’s been quietly. You’ve heard the Holy Spirit speaking into your spirit. You know truth has been bubbling up. You know calling has been calling to you. You understand that God has spoken a promise to you. Whether it’s about your life, whether it’s about ministry, whether it’s about job, whether it’s about building something, whether it’s about your children, whatever it’s about, you know that you’ve heard the will of God on the matter.
14:32
This is very important. What you do with this? Because right now there is no better time than to believe him. There is no better time, no faster time to be able to lay hold of what God has promised you, no better time than right now. Right now, all right, and I want to give you, before I kind of dive deeper into this, I want to give you some incorrect mindsets, because we’re going to be talking today about the mind and how the power of the mind determines our outcomes. And I’m not talking about mind over matter, I’m not talking about the law of attraction. I’m talking about biblically based understanding and how God made us, how he made us, created us in his image. We’re going to talk about that.
15:18
But it means your mind, you know, we can say that, and I pray this over myself all that I would have the mind of Christ. The scripture doesn’t say that I would have the brain of Christ. It says the mind of Christ. I am to have the mind of Christ, not the brain of Christ. So what is that telling us? It’s not about what you have physically going on. This is not something where you can begin comparing to what other people have in their physical stature, what they look like, how physically fit they are, what they have available to them. So I wrote down a couple of these things and I just want you to jot these down. And there are a million more, and if you think of more, I want you to write them down because that means the Holy Spirit is prompting you to understand. There might be something that you’re dealing with and you don’t even realize you do it, but all of a sudden those things come to mind. That means that something that you need to pay attention to, but I bet this is not the time. So if this is the time, if this there’s no better time than to lay ahold of what God has for us then this isn’t the time to envy other people’s successfulness, whatever that is, whatever they are successful in. It is not time to envy. Get your mind and your eyes off of other people. This is not the time.
16:35
Do not allow false comparisons, because whatever you compare is actually completely incomparable. We are so unique by design. We come from different parents, different DNA, different places, city, country, even literally. If you’re in the United States, you could be born in a city or in a suburb. You could be born in poverty or born in riches. You could be born one race or another race. You could be born with a family who has finances, one who is schooled and everything is about knowledge and teaching. You can be someone who’s never been taught anything. You could be somebody who had parents versus somebody who never had parents. I mean, everything is so. How many family members you have, where you fall on the family line, what your personality is. I mean, there are so many things that make each of us different that it is ridiculous to compare yourself in any kind of way to anybody else for any reason.
17:42
You are unique with a unique calling and a unique design, and it is the most harm you could do to yourself and to what you are called to do to compare yourself to somebody else. You alone make the very best you and you alone can produce what God has designed for you to produce the way he designed for you to be it. Only you can do that. Nobody else, everybody else, comes in a far, far second line. Nobody can be you and you can’t be them. You are far superior at being you and everyone else is completely at a loss. To be you. It’s like having an original.
18:24
If you’re somebody who likes name brands and cares about what label is on something and I’m not talking about quality I understand the difference between something that is very quality made and quality lasting versus something that’s not going to last. That’s not what I’m talking about. But if all you care about is name and status and labels, then you won’t settle for a knockoff. You know there’s a difference. You know there’s a difference. So I’m just I’m letting you know. In God’s eyes, he knows the difference and we need to understand there is a difference. I’m not called to the same thing. Somebody else is. And even if I’m called to a similar task, the way I am to go about it is the way that God directs me, which is completely unique to me. Okay, we cannot compare.
19:18
Don’t mistake other people’s charisma. Even to follow charisma, don’t be somebody who compares charisma with actual favor from God. You can have somebody who is full of charisma and they have no favor of God on their life. They are two completely different things. Don’t think that someone’s charisma means that they have God’s stamp of approval, that you cannot use that as your barometer.
19:47
And don’t confuse gifts with obedience. Some people have great giftings God gave. We have the parable of the talents, and some he gave five, some he gave two, some he gave one. It’s not the gift itself that is comparable. What was measured was what was done with the gift that was given. God did not measure the person with two versus the person with five based on the gifts. They simply wanted to make sure that the measure was what you did with the gift and that the task of giving the gift was to go make more. It was obedience, to be fruitful and multiply to obey.
20:31
So do you know, or do you want to know, why God chooses who he chooses? I’ll tell you why. It’s because of obedience and faithfulness there’s. Let me see. Do I want to give that to you right now? No, I’m going to wait. I’m going to wait. We need just even the scripture that I read you a little bit ago was that he said this people despises me, they don’t believe in me and in spite of the signs that I have done, among them, it’s they don’t. They don’t pay attention, and later we’ll read it was because they were unfaithful. They were unfaithful. But let’s continue on.
21:16
It isn’t luck. If somebody is being, is enjoying success, that’s not luck. It’s never luck. And if somebody is prospering and you see the prosperity that they are having, it is almost always a hurdle in the mind that we have to get over. That says that person is just whether you think they’re lucky or you think they’ve got everything going for them. Look at who they have around them. Look at the people supporting them. What you’re not seen is everything that built to that point. What you’re not seeing is the actual work. You’re seeing the glory of the work. You’re not seeing the work. You’re not seeing the obedience. You’re not seeing the steps that were taken, you’re not seeing the price that was paid, you’re not seeing the weight that is carried to be able to do that. And what’s crazy about that is God has said to us that his burden, his yoke, is easy and his burden is light. And we know through David’s, through the Psalms and King David, that he said, lord, your commandments to me are not burdensome. So when we say the weight of something, what we’re saying is that we are carrying the weight of obedience, carrying the burden not that’s too heavy, but the burden is knowing this is the Lord’s, this is what the Lord has said, and I carry that because I want to see that come to fruition, that the Lord has said something and I am now walking that out in obedience.
23:14
People that you see, people that you admire, people they have not been chosen for any old reason. They’re not chosen because they came from the right family. They’re not chosen because they have the right background. They’re not chosen because, now, god probably set all that up to use them for the purpose that he’s chosen to use them. But that was not the criteria.
23:36
In fact, we know in another piece of another passage of scripture, that God told the children of Israel I didn’t choose you because you were the best. I didn’t choose you because you had the most people or that you were the strongest. I chose you because I was going to show off, because you were nothing. I chose you, it was my doing. It had nothing to do with what you already had going for you. You had nothing going for you, but it was my doing.
24:01
Let’s read some scriptures about that. Romans 9 18 says so. Then he has mercy on whomever he wills and chooses, and he hardens or makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of whomever he wills. We know that, in fact, when God brought this people out of Egypt, he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, but his favor was on the people of Israel. Let’s look at John 15 16.
24:29
You didn’t choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, and so that whatever you ask in my name, the Father will give you. So there’s that walk of obedience. I’m choosing you, I have something for you to do and in that obedience you can ask God for whatever you need to fulfill that task. Whatever’s in front of you, you have, when you’re walking out, what God told you to walk out. You now have all the authority to say Lord, look, this need has come up and this is the way that you’ve asked me to go. I need your help. I need this mountain removed. I need you to take this enemy out. I need you to provide for me. I need a way to get in, whatever it is when you are walking, in obedience to what God has told you. You now have all authority to ask God for whatever you will, and he’ll give it to you. He, god, commanded that he would.
25:27
In Genesis 128, it says he blessed them and said to them be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that crawls upon the earth. We are to be fruitful. That’s a command. We are to multiply. We are to have dominion and authority. We are to rule. So, but what do you rule over? So, if you have a dominion, that means that you will rule over the thing that God has told you and called you to, because that’s where your dominion lies. Okay, that’s where your authority is, once you have settled that God has chosen you for the task that he has shown you and the promise that he has made to you. You must make sure that your mind is right. Here’s we’re getting, we’re starting to get to it that your mind is right. It will be imperative. Are you ready for some growth? Because here it is.
26:24
The mindset of Israel, and the passage of scripture that I read to you was that, in fact, I’m going to read it to you again because I want you to hear this. I want you to see if you hear yourself in this, if God has called you to something that is bigger than you, better than anything you’ve ever experienced, better, bigger, better, even more intimidating than you can imagine. But it’s God’s promise to you. He’s called you to it. It’s something that scares you a little bit but excites you all at the same time. Okay, I want you to listen to this. We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit, however, so you might say, yeah, that excite me. That sounds great, god. That really is a. That would be awesome. Oh, I want that. I want what you have for me. I want what you’ve promised me, god.
27:12
But then they said the people who dwell in the land are strong and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Nageb, the Hittites, the Jebusites and the Amorites dwell on the hill country and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the Jordan. I mean, listen to that. You have Caleb who says he quiets the people down, says let us go up at once and occupy it. These are vast differences in what they’re saying, for we are well able to overcome it. The men who had gone up with him said we are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are. Boy, this this stirs me up so much. I hope you can really get this. This is a mindset. Okay, this is a mindset.
28:05
The children of Israel have a mindset of slavery. They have not gotten rid of the mindset that they had when they were in bondage in Egypt. They still think the same way, they’re processing the same way, they’re keeping themselves bound in the same way. And I’m saying that they’re keeping themselves bound because God, by miraculous signs and wonders, delivered them, freed them. They are now free, no enemies chasing them, free to go into a promise, free to actually do what God has called them to do, and do it with God’s power and miraculous signs all along the way, showing them yep, this is me, this is what I’ve told you, this is what I’ve promised you, this is what I have for you. And instead, this people, because of the way that they think, their mindset, the thoughts that they allow to turn over and over and over in their minds, are still thoughts that are we’re not big enough, we’re not good enough.
29:17
Listen, folks, when they were in Egypt, because they were slaves, their mindset was those who are above us, those who are in control, those who are these people. They’re bigger than us, these masters that we serve. They’re bigger than us. They’re stronger than us. They know how to control us. They decide what we can and can’t do. They tell us if we can eat. They tell us how we do our job. They tell us if the job’s going to be hard.
29:51
These things that control us, these slavery mindsets. They control them. Now, even though they are literally free, they no longer are bound, they’re no longer a slave, they are totally free. Not one chain is on them. And even though their circumstance around them is freedom, in their minds they’re still enslaved. They still believe we’re too small, those that we would have to conquer. We can’t conquer. We just can’t do it. It’s just too big. It’s just bigger than me. I just don’t know how. I’ve never done it before. I’ve always been in slavery. I don’t know how to be free. These are mindsets. These are mindsets. This is too big, this is too good. God wouldn’t be saying that to me. That’s just me wanting something. That’s just extravagance. That’s just. Can you imagine? Can you imagine I’ve heard this so many times People who see other people successful in order to excuse the fact that they did not ever accomplish anything.
30:50
This is the mindset of the person with the one talent who buried it and did nothing with it. The mindset they have towards those who did is not wow, good for you. You had the guts, you had the strength, you did it, you went for it, you took the risks, whatever you believed God. But instead, their mindset of those kind of people is is all that really necessary, guy? How much do you need? When are you going to be satisfied with what you have? And it’s to belittle those who have actually done more, to criticize those who are willing to be fruitful and multiply. Multiply, not even adding. There’s a difference between adding and subtracting and multiplying and dividing. There’s a huge difference and the scope of the magnification happens much more quickly and expounds on a much higher level, much faster, much farther, much larger.
31:51
Why would we think that the mindset of God is to remain small, if God says it’s time to stretch out your tents, lengthen your stakes, strengthen your stakes, lengthen your cords? I mean, when God tells us to do something, he doesn’t tell us to do it, but just do it, just a little bit, just add a little bit here and there. You know, don’t go crazy. I really don’t want you to attempt any of that. I haven’t seen that anywhere. Nowhere in scripture do I see that. And I’m not talking about a gospel that says I’m supposed to go, take from everybody else and heap to myself. I’m not saying that. And again, you can’t compare yourself to somebody else’s. Your multiplication will look different than somebody else’s.
32:45
So it’s ridiculous to criticize somebody who’s doing well or somebody who’s doing less than that person, because you don’t know where that person started, you don’t know how many talents they began with and you don’t know how much multiplication has already gone on in their life. You don’t know what step they are in that process. They can be right on the verge of exploding and you don’t even know. We have such limited knowledge. God does not tell us the plan for other people’s lives. He doesn’t give us the blueprint, doesn’t tell us all about what he’s wanting them to do, doesn’t tell us how they do it, doesn’t tell us what they shouldn’t do. It’s not our business. It’s not our business.
33:25
I even in prayer the other day. I’ve never done this before. I don’t even. I’m shocked that the words came out of my mouth, because I don’t normally think along these lines. But I began to ask the Lord about something, about myself and about my life, about my future, and I realized until he decides to tell me it’s none of my business Because it’s his plan, it’s none of my business. If he wants to tell me something, then it becomes my business, but until he tells me it’s not my business and your business is certainly not my business. We need to get out of each other’s business and quit being busy bodies and get all involved in other people and comparing ourselves to other people. And, even more importantly than that, we need to remove the old mindset so that we, while we’re concentrating on our business that God has given us, that we actually care about where God’s taking us and that we walk in obedience and agree with God, and that we understand that he is giving something to us to do, because he has every plan and every purpose to fulfill it. Thank you, hi.

35:37
He has every intention on making sure that you get right where you’re supposed to be, because it’s his plan. You’re just lucky enough to be the chosen one to go through with that plan. You’re really blessed If God has promised you. You are really blessed If God has given you something that he has told you to believe for. You are really blessed because, if God said it, that’s his intention, that is his purpose for you. You are blessed and you need to have a free mindset. Quit thinking about where you came from. Quit allowing the old you, your past before being saved, the struggles that you’ve gone through to get where you are now. Quit dwelling on those as if those have any bearing on what you can do now. Let go of the slave mindset. You need to control the thoughts that are going on in your mind.
36:34
I want to break this down a little bit. I told you we’d do a little bit of science here. There is a difference between your mind and your brain. Your brain is just like another organ inside your body. If your brain is not being told what to do, it cannot tell the body what to do. Literally, this has been proven. This is totally scientific. We now know and we’ve learned this over the last gosh, over the last between 30 and 50 years, I think it is that we have. We now understand that the brain, in the function of the brain, is that it has neuroplasticity, which means it can change. So we no longer science, no longer says that if there is damage in the brain or if there is something that’s not working right in the brain, that it is forever that way, because the brain can change. The brain can change. So that means the outcomes that the brain has on the body can change. Our bodies can actually change. That neuroplasticity is what I want you to understand, because it can change.
37:50
So your thoughts we have all these scriptures about thoughts, your mind, your will and your emotions. Like I mentioned before Jesus, we want the mind of Christ. We don’t want the brain of Christ, we want the mind of Christ. What is the mind of Christ? It’s the thoughts that he thinks. It’s the thoughts he thinks God does not have a physical body, therefore he does not have a brain, and he says the thoughts he has towards us are good. He has a mind. He doesn’t need the brain. You have a mind. We are to think godly thoughts, think righteous thoughts.
38:29
Dr Caroline Leif explains it that the way that your actual brain functions is that your mind has thoughts. Those thoughts will either build and she uses an analogy of a tree, because the way that their birth is just like a tree and they look like little trees in the brain and you are either producing, by your thoughts, toxic trees that will continue to grow and produce toxic activity in the brain and therefore in your body and in your actions and in your choices, or you will produce the good, beautiful trees full of life and health that will multiply and affect the body and affect the actions that you take. Your brain is simply doing what it’s told based off of your thoughts. You first have a thought, after your thought comes a feeling and after you feel will come an action. You will make a choice based off of that thought. You will choose to believe it or you will choose to take it captive. The word tells us that we are to take every thought captive.
39:43
I want to read you some of these scriptures. Okay, let’s look at Romans 12-2. This says do not be conformed to this world. So if we’re talking about the children of Israel coming out of slavery, they have allowed their minds, the thoughts that they think, to be conformed to the slavery they were in. Therefore, they could not look at their future through a choice of yes, that’s possible, and God has chosen it for us and then walked that out in obedience. Instead, it produced in them all the toxic thoughts where they constantly grumbled and complained. They constantly wanted to go back to Egypt. I mean, we read the scripture let’s choose somebody to take us back. Let’s let’s. We can’t do this. This is horrible. We got to get out of here. They were. They were constantly against those who were promising them good things. They would grumble against those who wanted to bring freedom to their life.
40:49
Do you do that? Do you grumble and complain against people and the voices that come to you that say it could be better than this. You could have better than this, your choices could be better. You could actually have better in your life? Do you? Do you grumble at those voices? If you do, step back from yourself for a moment, truly step back from yourself for a moment and think about the conversations you’ve had with people, people who have either been the voices that have called you to move forward and to grow, or people who have grumbled in your ear, like we talked about last week, those rabble rousers who are are terrible and come in and cause grumbling, complaining and remind you about the old life and the old mindsets. You need to examine very carefully the way you have been thinking about what God has promised you, thinking about the plan that God has for your life, thinking about the path he’s told you to take. Are you listening to the voices from God or are you listening to the voices from those who say you can’t have that, that’s too big for you, that’s too hard of a thing to get over, you’ll never accomplish that. You don’t have what it takes those people who do that. They just have an advantage. You don’t have that advantage. Are you listening to those voices and do you agree with those? Have you built in your mind toxic trees of thought that need to be chopped down and the truth put on them? Okay, let’s continue.
42:36
Do not be conformed to this world. Your past is what I’m calling that, or your old defeatist mindsets and your old ways of thinking? Whatever, whatever traps you were in, whatever things you fell prey to, whatever addictions you dealt with, do you have that mindset? Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, not your brain, your mind, your thoughts. You have to renew your thoughts that by testing you may discern what is the will of God. So you have to test the thoughts that you’re thinking. Do they agree with God? You’ve used them to discern? Are these the will of God thoughts? Do these thoughts align with the will of God for my life? Come on, folks. This is grow time. This is grow time.
43:36
Think about yourself, think about the thoughts you think, think about the reactions you have. You know I had recently. I didn’t realize I was even thinking about something, and especially thinking about it in a particular way. I really didn’t even know I was thinking about it. And they’ve proven that if you actually say something out of your mouth, if you actually have a thought that is spoken out of your mouth, that means you have it meditated on that thought for at least 63 days. At least 63 days. You may have done it for years, but you’ve done it at least for 63 days for that thought to come manifest itself out of your mouth. That’s why the scripture says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, because it’s the things you have meditated on what’s in your heart, the things that you meditate on. That is the thing that causes you to make choices. Your heart causes you to move. It’s your the indicator that you’re going after something. Your heart drives you that. Those are your thoughts. So, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, and we’ve proven it scientifically. It’s amazing. So step back. I’ll go back to myself.
44:52
So I had this thing. I didn’t realize I was thinking a particular way about right. And all of a sudden the Lord caused me to recognize because I’ve been really making this my own practice to stand back and look at how I’m behaving, how am I responding, what am I physically doing? And I realized I was having a physical kind of reaction, like physically I kept doing this thing and I thought why am I doing that? And I had to then begin asking the Lord why what’s going on here? And when I took that and meditated on that and allowed the Holy Spirit by discernment, like the scripture says, to go, I realized I had a thought pattern and that thought pattern was producing an action in me, a physical response in my body. I didn’t even realize I was thinking that. But boy, that helped me. Because now that I know the thought, I can put the truth of God’s word on that thought. I can take that thought captive. I am no longer. I don’t have to be bound by that thought. I don’t have, I’m not gonna live in slavery, I’ve been set free. I’ve been set free and so have you, child of God. You’ve been set free.
46:03
Do not allow yourself, with your thoughts, to remain in fear and in confusion and in doubt. All of those things come from an old mindset that needs to be renewed. Let’s continue reading. I’ll read from the beginning Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that, by testing, you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. So God’s will for you is not only good, it’s acceptable and it’s perfect. It’s perfect for you. So quit saying you can’t do it. Quit saying it’s too big, it’s too hard. Yes, you can, it’s perfect for you. God perfectly designed you and he perfectly chose for you what he has for you. The promise he has made for you has been cultivated and shaped and made just particularly for you, designed just for you and original just for you, to bless you. Let’s look at 2 Corinthians 10-5.
47:05
Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We take our thoughts captive. We cast down arguments. Take the thought captive. We call it an argument because it argues against the truth of God. It argues, like the children of Israel, we can’t go in Caleb and Joshua. Yes, we can, we’re well-labeled. No, we aren’t, they’re too big. This is an argument.
47:33
Casting down arguments. And every high thing. What’s a high thing? Something that thinks it is higher, when you think that thing is bigger than what you can handle, when you think that thing is higher than you can reach, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. What is the knowledge of God? If God told you you have the knowledge that that is what God has chosen for you, if God’s word tells you that you are an overcomer, then that is the truth. You are an overcomer and no matter what thing comes to fight you and tear down at you, you can say no.
48:18
By the grace of God and through salvation, I’m no longer a slave. I am free and I can do whatever I need to do. I can overcome, I will overcome. I will by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony. Praise God, bringing every thought into captivity. Capture it and imprison that thing. Tell it you will not rule in rain. I take you as my captive. To what? The obedience of Christ?
48:54
Our thoughts are to line up so that we can obey and attain what it is that God has called us to do, just like with the children of Israel. They were supposed to walk out in obedience the capturing of the promised land, the taking what God has promised them. He had called them to do it. It was his will, it was a good will, it was a perfect will, and they were to obey Obedience. When we don’t agree with God, we literally are walking in disobedience, even if you think you’re not walking in disobedience. If you refuse to go and take what God has told you to take to get your promised land to live in, the thing that God has called you to live in, if you’re not going after it, if you’re not attempting to do it, then you are disobeying His command to be fruitful and multiply. You are disobeying His command to accomplish what he’s called you to accomplish. Philippians 4-8,.
49:51
What kind of thought should we be thinking? What is the mind of Christ, all these things that we’re talking about, taking every thought captive. What should we be dwelling on? Not slavery, not our past, not the difficult things, not how big the giants are. None of those things.
50:08
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, what’s true? Everything that God says is true. Everything the Word of God says, that’s what’s true. Whatever things are noble, nobility, the things of the kingdom, things that are of royalty, belong to God. Whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report good report, the children of Israel. We heard it, we read it. They listened and gave a bad report. They had a bad report of the good land. They even said the land was good. And look at the fruit of the land. They even knew it was good and they chose to believe a bad report. We are to think on things that are of good report.
51:10
They were supposed to listen to the good report of Caleb and Joshua about that land, let alone the fact that God had already said this is the land I have for you. It is a land that flows with milk and honey and I am giving everything in it to you. I will take out the enemies for you. I’m giving it to you. It’s my gift. All you got to do is go in and do it. This is the point. It’s time to move.
51:32
When I said it’s time to move, it means you get busy getting in there. Get busy getting in your land. Do the things necessary, take the steps. Do you need to go back to school? Go back to school. Do you need to fill out some applications? Fill out some applications. Do you need to go, say you’re sorry and repair that relationship? Then do it. Whatever it is that God is telling you to do, do it. Get a right mind. Get a right mindset. Folks, quit walking in deception. Quit walking in agreement with Egypt. When you’ve been delivered out of Egypt, you are no longer a slave. You are now a free person. You are now those who can conquer. You are now those who are overcomers.
52:11
Good report, if there be any virtue, anything virtuous about it. That means, when you’re thinking about your spouse, think about all the things that are virtuous about that person. Don’t think about all the negative things. Don’t think about the things that challenge you, because they’re just challenges. Don’t think about the things and maybe they’re challenges because you need to grow in an area. What about that? What if we need to grow and the Lord chose somebody for our lives because he knew iron sharpens iron and you need to be challenged in this area. You need to grow in this area, but it’s uncomfortable. It’s uncomfortable. We don’t want to do that. I prefer to do it the way I do it. I’m comfortable with my way. You’ll never grow if all you care about is comfort. If comfort is your number one priority, you will not grow and you will not take your promised land and you will die in that You’re as far as you’ll ever go if all you care about is your comfort. Let’s continue reading.
53:11
If there be any virtue and if there be anything praiseworthy these are so important for your relationships how you think about the people that God has brought into your life. Meditate on these things, really think about them. Build all those wonderful good trees on this side of your brain that take over and cut down all those negative things that have been built up in your mind. If God has spoken to you and given you a good report, don’t hesitate any longer. Believe the report of the Lord and get busy in your obedience. Look at what God told them in Deuteronomy 7, and I’m going to read you, verses 17 to 24. Deuteronomy 1. Second. I’m going to look it up with you. Deuteronomy 7, verses 17 through 24.
54:12
If you say in your heart, so what does that mean? If you say in your heart, if you say in your mind, if you say in your mind, if you say in your heart, these nations are greater than I, this is the Lord. I’ll give you context. This is the Lord. And now the second generation. First generation didn’t go in. They totally blew.
54:37
It Died in the wilderness. In fact, the 10 spies died of a plague, just like that, because of their bad giving, a bad report, and all those who listened to that bad report and desired that bad report and accepted that mind of slavery died over those 40 years that they wandered in a wilderness. Is that what you want for your life? Do you want to wand, which is, keep wandering in a wilderness, or are you ready to take your promised land? This is now their children, that next generation, and they’re coming up on the same thing. They’re going to see the same land, the same people live in their same obstacles, same everything. And God’s talking to them. God’s talking to them.
55:16
If you say in your heart these nations are greater than I? How can I dispossess them? So he’s saying if you have that same mindset, you shall not be afraid of them, but you shall remember what the Lord God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt. So he’s saying you need to remember how powerful I am and that I already took you out of slavery. You need to remember I’m all you need. I delivered you. You no longer need that mindset, you no longer have to fear those enemies. I am the God who does all of that and I’m with you. I’m the one telling you this is yours, let’s go get it.
55:55
The great trials that your eyes saw, the signs and wonders, the mighty hand and the outstretched arm by which the Lord, your God brought you out. So will the Lord your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid. Moreover, the Lord your God will send hornets among them until those who are left, those who are left and hide themselves from you, are destroyed. You shall not be in dread of them, for the Lord your God is in your midst. A great and awesome God, the Lord your God, will clear away these nations before you little by little. You may not make an end of that at once, lest the wild beasts grow too numerous for you, but the Lord, your God, will give them over to you and throw them into great confusion until they are destroyed, and he will give their kings into your hand and you shall make their name perish from under heaven. No one shall be able to stand against you until you have destroyed them. That is a promise that nothing and no one will be able to stand against you.
57:01
Now, in there was that little caveat. He said I’m going to do this little by little. This is your process. Don’t get discouraged and don’t think God hasn’t done it yet because it doesn’t happen overnight, that you’re just not an overnight sensation or that that thing doesn’t just happen tomorrow. Whatever, you’re waiting on God to. But you need to know that God has promised you it will. That has to get settled. That’s a mindset. That’s a mindset. Settle it in your mind.
57:28
I’m a believer. I have been set free. God has a plan and he has told me that’s what’s happening. So we’re on our way and we’re going to take, enemy by enemy. Whatever we have to do, each one’s getting knocked out. God is going to deal with everyone. They can’t stand against you. Yes, you’re going to have to go in there. Yes, you’ve got to dispossess them. Yes, you’ve got to do a little fighting. Don’t be discouraged because of that. I’m telling you go in and fight, but you’re going to win. It’s a fixed fight. Go in and win and take what I’ve given to you.
57:56
Don’t be afraid of the work, don’t be afraid of the process. God is going to do what God promised you to do, promised he would do for you. It’s your agreement. You’re walking in obedience, in hand in hand with him. Remember when we said at the very beginning, because then you have the ability to ask God whatever you will. When you’re walking according to his will, you can ask him whatever it is that you need. You’ll have what you need.
58:24
All of this was possible for their generation. What I just read to you, all of those promises were possible to that first generation. There was no better time, there was no faster way. For 40 years they could have already been living in their promised land. For 40 years they could have already been living this grand, beautiful new life. For 40 years they could have done it and they didn’t do it. They believed the bad report. They allowed the old ways, the old mindsets, the old toxic thoughts and thinking to stay there instead of renewing their mind and believing what God has told them, changing their thoughts, taking them captive and taking their promise they had refused. That generation refused to renew their minds. They lost their opportunity to live in the promised land and experience a life of total freedom and blessing.
59:29
Are you settling for freedom? Are you settling to be freed and rescued but not living in the promise? Have you settled to remain in a wilderness, free? You’re saved. I got saved. Praise the Lord. The Lord saved me. I have an eternal salvation. Have you settled like that? Are you like the children of Israel, where you’re in the wilderness but you’re just going to settle for that? I’m settled enough to just be saved, but I’m not settled in the promise of God and I’m not going to believe God to go and have my promise now that I’m free. Oh, child of God, hear me.
01:00:09
Today You’ve got a choice to make. Your thoughts produce feelings. Those feelings will produce a choice in action. Your actions will tell you what you’ve been thinking and feeling. If you’re not choosing to go forward, that helps. You know I’ve been thinking wrong thoughts. If my choices have been to remain or go back to slavery. If you’ve been having thoughts about going back to slavery, then you know If you’re dabbling in old things, you know what kind of thoughts you’ve been having based off the choice you’re making, because the thought came first. We get to determine by our thoughts than what our feelings will be. I could have a thought about the weather. I get to choose how I want to feel about that. I have a perspective. I get to choose how I’m going to feel about that knowledge and that thought and then my action I take will be based off of what I have chosen to think and feel about.
01:01:16
I hope you’re getting this. This is the easiest and hardest at the same time thing to do and it is the simplest way to completely radically change your life, completely radically change your life. Are you settling for simply freedom to be rescued and to live without blessing? The choice is yours. I want to read you Deuteronomy 30, verse 19. Deuteronomy 30, verse 19. I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore, choose life that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord, your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days that you may dwell in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, to give them. Folks, if you are a faith that you are of your father, abraham, these promises that were to them are to also to us, who are far off. These are still our promises. We can attain the promise that God has made for us. But you have a choice to make right now.
01:02:59
The thoughts you think are thoughts to choose whether to live, live in blessing or be cursed, life or death. The choice is actually yours. No one’s choosing it for you. Do you know that physical health that there only it’s either three or five percent. I can’t remember which one it was because I looked at a bunch of statistics. It’s either three or five percent. Only three or five percent of medical disease and trouble in the body is actually from DNA. Only between three and five percent of what people suffer in their body is from DNA. Do you know what the majority of it’s from? The fear of it. Every time that they fear that they’re going to get that thing that somebody else had in their family line, they’re building those toxic trees telling that brain how to act, and that brain is saying oh, we’re supposed to be sick and we’re terrified of being sick and we’re going to be even that much more sick. And it literally makes the body sick. You can choose life or death.
01:04:13
I’ll give you an example the woman with the issue of blood. Now, remember earlier I told you that if you actually say something out of your mouth, you’ve already been meditating on those thoughts for at least 63 days. Well, let’s look at the woman who had the issue of blood. This woman had determined, from the time that she got sick, that she was not going to be sick. She checked every doctor. She spent all she had. She’d spent years thinking about this.
01:04:40
And what does she say to herself when she hears about Jesus? What was the thought that she meditated on so much? If I can just this is what she thought. If I can just touch his hem, I’ll be healed. If I can just touch his hem, I’ll be healed.
01:04:58
And what did Jesus say to her when she pressed through the crowd, when she, in obedience to the right thoughts, took action and chose to pursue something that most people would not do? The people would have told her you can’t do that. You’re the high thinking. What are the thoughts, the high things that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. Those things are you’re sick, you’re unclean, you’re not allowed to be with people, you can’t come over here. This is off limits to you. You can’t have healing, you can’t come to Jesus, you can’t ask him for anything. But her obedience said that she could. Her obedience to God’s will and God’s way said that I can ask anything. And she believed those thoughts. And she said within herself if I could just touch the hem of his garment, I can be healed. And what did Jesus say to her Woman? Your faith has made you whole. Your faith has made you whole. You thought it, you believed it, you trusted me for it and you got it. You got it. We have got a choice to make today. Folks, I set before you today life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life. Today.
01:06:20
You have the opportunity to grow immensely today, right now, by taking the thoughts captive, the thoughts that you might be having. Saying that works for other people, other people, jamie, that doesn’t work for me. You just had a toxic thought. You just allowed something. You didn’t take it captive and you’ve allowed it to set up a stronghold in your mind. The word stronghold is the word stronghold. You didn’t take it captive and you’ve allowed it to set up a stronghold in your mind. The word stronghold literally means it’s just a oh. What’s the word? It’s just a tower of thoughts. A stronghold is just a tower of thoughts. We have to tear down strongholds in our mind. Tear down those thoughts.
01:07:00
I’ve given you the scripture. I’ve given you the word. I’ve given you the power today, because God’s word is the power. I’ve given you the truth today. God’s word is the truth and His word says what you are to think on and what you’re to do with your thoughts. So I have given you the challenge today.
01:07:17
Stop whining. It’s time to go in. Don’t waste 40 years. There’s never a better time. There is never a better opportunity. Today’s the day of salvation. Today you can make a difference. Today you can begin possessing your promised land. I pray you do it.
01:07:34
Let me pray for you. Father, we just thank you for what you have done for us, how you have already afforded us your word, your promises, your truth, your deliverance, your salvation. You are a mighty God who goes before us with a strong arm and tears down everything that stands in our way. You have said it and you will accomplish it. It doesn’t matter who we are, it doesn’t matter where we come from, it doesn’t matter what we’ve been given and what we don’t have. We have you, and you are all we need. You are the great equalizer. You’re the one who chooses. So we thank you today for everything that you have done and everything you are going to do in our lives. We agree with you. We set our mind straight. We will not be conformed to this world, but we will renew our mind with your word and we give you all the thanks and all the praise for what you’re doing, beginning today In Jesus, mighty name, we pray Amen, amen.
