Bad news, death, and destruction are easily found all around us. People are crying out in grand display, each clamoring for your attention. Every day you choose what you will feed yourself. Do you continually go to the same muddy well for a drink? Do you pick fruit from the same diseased tree?

You determine the inputs, which then determine your outputs. When Jesus had died, the women who followed him came to the tomb distraught. Their input was nothing but death and bad news. They had come looking for Jesus’ dead body so that they might apply spices and perfumes, hoping to comfort their grieving minds and spirits.

Isn’t that what we try to do? We continually go back to the dead places looking for comfort and peace. It won’t matter how much perfume you put on a corpse. If it’s dead, it’s dead. So I ask you as the angel asked them, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?”

As believers, we are to walk each day in the knowledge that Jesus is not dead. He is very much alive! If you need life, don’t turn to dead things for it. Go to the source and giver of life. Determine to feed yourself from the tree of life and drink from the one who gives living water. Jesus told his disciples, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; he that believes on me shall never thirst.” John 6:35

I have good news. You don’t have to spend your day walking amongst the dead. You can choose life today! Jesus is alive and waiting to comfort your soul, bring wisdom and instruction for the questions you don’t have answers to, and give you hope and vision for your future.

Your tomorrows will be dictated by your choices today. Death or life. “Choose life!”
