Jesus Christ is the author of all life. So consequently, life is then “found in” or “hidden in” Christ when we are born again. Outside of Christ, there is only death and the absence of life. In other words, nothing of life can be found outside of Christ’s life. No joy, no contentment, no peace, no gain, no purpose, nothing.

For example, if you lack joy, the enemy has something he shouldn’t. He’s trespassing. If you lack contentment, the enemy is hiding somewhere. In short, whatever you lack can be traced to the enemy of your soul. He may be doing it by stealth, but you can be sure it’s him.

However, you don’t have to put up with it starting today. The enemy no longer can lay claim to any part of you as a believer. He has no rights to you as a child of God. If you will rise up and take your rightful position, you can say like Jesus, “The ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.” (John 14:30)

We must be like Jesus and give no place to the enemy. Jesus knew that what He had with the Father far surpassed anything the Devil could offer. And the same is true for us. What we have available to us through Christ far outweighs what this world offers. We have the right to an abundant life which is found when you separate from death. You are no longer joined to death or the things and ways that lead to death. You now live your life separated from your old man and his ways and are joined to Jesus as a new man. When you graft your life into Him, all the fullness of His life becomes yours.

He is the Vine, and we are the branches. Abundant life and the fruit of the Spirit are produced when abiding in Him.
Jesus promised us if we would remain in Him, and His word abides in us, we can ask what we will, and it will be done for us. (John 15:7) That’s abundant life. The realm of more than enough where we receive above and beyond what we could ask or think.

What do you need today? Do you need joy, peace, or contentment? Maybe today, you need a savior. Just call on the life-giver. He will meet your every need. Surrender it all and take Him at His word. He is the source of life.
