Our current national climate is one of conformity. It literally wants to strip you of your nationality, race, gender, religious beliefs, personality, and even your own thought life. We went from the extreme of everyone should say their opinion to everyone needs to be of the same opinion. And if you are not, you need to be silenced.

But Scripture is clear on this matter. From our creation, we were free. Free to choose God or deny Him. Though He wanted us to choose Him, He made no demands to conform. Instead, He offered transformation. If you wanted to live free from the effects of sin and the choices of those around you, you could be transformed and thereby not bound by them.

Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

His will is that you are free. He never wanted you mindless, genderless, raceless, powerless, or lost. He wanted you to know you were born on purpose and with purpose, and by design. He made you the gender you are because you have a destiny to fulfill. Robbing you of your gender denies you of ever feeling fulfilled, never living your purpose, and endlessly chasing your tail. Your color and nationality carry strategy, power, and influence. It reveals the beauty, creativity, and generosity of God. You don’t have to change what and who you are to be loved. You were known and loved from the beginning, and with great detail, you were handcrafted.

Don’t give away your mind or its power to think over to those who would strip you of your freedom. Instead, renew it. Purge it from the lies that have stolen your God-given identity. Keep it always refreshed and growing. Wash and cleanse it with righteousness. Fill it with the Words of life. Feed it with the promises and purposes of God.
We don’t serve a dictator! We serve a powerful and yet benevolent God! He is rich in love and mercy, and He longs to set us free from any and all tyranny and bondage. Don’t turn loose of the freedom Christ purchased for you. Choose liberty. Choose to live free.
